Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Quinnster on Aug 6, 2015 11:17:39 GMT 1, Hi everyone, Thoughts on fair prices for: Weston Super Mare (signed or unsigned) Bomb Middle England (signed or unsigned) VLH The three pieces I want to own more than any others.... I've seen a signed WSM for sale on ebay for ยฃ10.5K but assume that may be slightly inflated. Guessing BME will be similar pricing (ยฃ3K+ for unsigned, nearing ยฃ10 for signed?) Very Little Helps - any chance of finding this for under ยฃ10K these days?
BME seems to fetch slightly more than WSM....

When you refresh and the orice comes up.... That is the old price in the database from a different period of time. The Gangsta rat was listed at ยฃ12000 but it's really ยฃ18,000. Or it was when I inquired.

And depending on condition Personally after years of collecting I'd prefer to pay a little more for peace of mind regarding condition and seller. It's great to buy a print from a long standing member on here who has the same standards regarding condition& framing standards.

Around ยฃ7500 i would say. Seems like most folks would prefer the red stamp and you may have to pay a slight premium for it but i doubt that a seller would take any less than this value if it didnt have the stamp.
I bought a Barcode a few years ago which has the red stamp but if I'm honest i didnt even think about it when purchasing. Its a great print with or without red stamp and i doubt i would pay any premium for the stamp but i could be in the minority.

I know that I am in the rare minority but I actually prefer unsigned and non-stamped prints. When people see my unsigned festival, they always say "what a cool print". When they see the stamped barcode, they say "wow, you have a banksy" and it almost feels the symbolism of the print becomes slightly devalued...

Strange that you feel the image is devalued when their reaction can be construed as symptomatic of the very essence of what that image symbolizes (to me anyway), ie that capitalism can't control itself. Personally, I'd argue that reaction makes it even stronger unless of course they are Banksy or cat lovers.

Sorry kintoreton both prints are unsigned. The only difference is that my barcode has the red stamp (but was bought cheap as a damaged print a while ago)! :-)
Lee3, very valid point of view. I appreciate the thoughtful response...it is what I enjoy about the forum. I guess my fear is that as Banksy becomes a bigger name, owning a print with his red stamp or signature becomes more of a "status symbol" than an appreciation of his art. I just look at how crazy people became with BNE or Outis or the possibility of an upcoming print release at a supposed show. But yes, for me, both festival and barcode are brilliant statements (I also have Blu Rennes) on capitalism. Seeing the images on my wall challenges me daily, as I can be prone to binges of capitalistic excess. Even worst, this is in spite of the fact I travel from time to time to places where people in poverty are fighting for simple survival.
Anyhow, sorry to the rest of you for diverting the pricing thread.

It might for many but as long as your happy with your pursuit, who cares what the others think?

I hope you continue to enjoy it and am sure you will. As for the back half of that statement, i think we all are prone which is precisely what that image is conveying. It's a destructive economic system and none of us are immune. Sadly, it appears to be rapidly worsening for the world at large too.

Don't be; best stuff at any of these sites are the tangents imo.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Poster Bob on Aug 13, 2015 21:42:16 GMT 1, What's the current asking price for a signed "Love Rat" in excellent condition, unstamped, that has never been framed? Through some Googling I can see that at S|2 Laz asked for ยฃ13,500 and that the last time Hang Up sold one they were asking ยฃ8,750 which seems like a century ago. May I be so bold as to say ยฃ15,000 as a minimum?
