Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Deleted on May 11, 2016 7:53:16 GMT 1, Hi There Im not sure I'm posting in the right place? I would love to get some idea of the value of my Banksy. Queen Vic print. Ill keep it simple. I have a signed and authenticated Queen Victoria print (28/500). Purchased back in 2003 from Lazarides London. I have been the sole owner. It has been framed and stored in perfect condition, all corners sharp and clean. Lazarides London didn't exist in 2003 and there was only 50 signed...... if it is one of the signed 50, they are quite rare.... £19k-£21.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Viking Surfer on May 11, 2016 13:49:37 GMT 1, 19- 21k is an exceptionally high price for a Banksy Queen Victoria.
I was offered one a month or two ago at 16.5k and it eventually sold for 15k.
It's a much harder image to liquidate due to it not being very wall friendly.

I dont like the image one bit, but its from a v small signed edition and will always demand some interest.

I dont like the image one bit, but its from a v small signed edition and will always demand some interest. When I was speaking to a few prominent members on here for advice, they all felt it was actually lower at 13/14k. I was surprised as I thought it would be a lot higher too.
But I guess they were all right in regard to it not being wall friendly as the art police flat out refused it going on our wall because 'it was disrespectful to Victoria' lol.
I've also shown it to quite a few people since then to show how silly my wife was being, but none of them really liked it either to which I was very surprised as I love the image and it was one of the first I originally saw by Banksy.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by luckydevil on May 13, 2016 0:17:46 GMT 1, Hi All, here's an update on my original post for anyone else who's selling / buying Banksy Queen Vic prints. I emailed a few London galleries regarding my signed print, the most respected one (in my opinion) came back to me with the following: 17-19K with a 10% commission on the sale. They had recently and sold another from the edition and that went for 18K. The other two galleries came back with one of 15K and 22K.

I'd take those prices with a grain of salt. The gallery method of sales is fairly long term, i.e. they set whatever price they want until someone eventually pays it. I've never once walked into a gallery and seen accurate market pricing. It's just the nature of the beast considering they have the costs of the shop and staff. Get some reserves from reputable auction houses, they will be much more pragmatic with thier evaluations. Good luck!

Personal experience suggests that the u/s is more attractive / sought after with the red stamp

Even if fees needed to be added on top that would be a great price - classic image, not withstanding the hype / fype / farts or whatever.

Can I ask where £8,500 came from, and do you know of any visible sales to back that up? Also, may I ask if you own one?

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Unica on May 21, 2016 16:34:56 GMT 1, Hi, I suggested the Laugh Now is between £8-9k due to my recent search for one, both CAT and Hang Up galleries have one each and both of them priced at £8950. The original poster was looking for a mint one and that in my mind would be perfect condition, never framed and there is usually a premium for that.
I would think the the one at auction probably went for closer to £6k with buyers premium etc, and I think that one was framed, so not mint in my mind. That being said I don't have a condition report, so I can't say for sure. I appreciate your post and hopeful now that I can get one for £5k or near enough. I'll put a post up in the wanted section and see if I can shake one loose.

Gallery asking prices aren't indicative of true market value, imo.
Having said that, it is an absolute classic and best of luck on your search.
(The Dreweatts one I linked to was unframed and excellent, so there is hope!)
