Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by chichi carter on Jul 27, 2016 20:27:29 GMT 1, Hi. Looking for the current value of coloured Trolleys and Applause (unsigned). Both are framed to conservation standards, float mounted with hinges (if that makes a difference). I figure about £8500 for Trolleys and £4000 for Applause but I would like to get a 'second' opinion. Thanks in advance!

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by wisky on Jul 27, 2016 23:10:42 GMT 1, A friend of mine, was recently offered £80,000, then £85,000 for a red ed-150 Girl with balloon, from a well known London art dealer, whom had a client waiting to buy!!! Both offers were refused..... Because he was politely informed that a Girl With Balloon is worth £100k + how much the client is willing to pay to own such a piece! Always look at a persons motives for under-pricing, especially if they happen to be a dealer themselves. I can only assume youre referencing my post, as posterbob pointed out opus recently had a signed Girl With Balloon for 75k which sat for a good while before selling, i dont know if it sold for asking price eventually youd have to ask them, a gallery saying its now worth 100k+ would suggest this didnt sell because it was so cheap it made buyers wary. It was openly for sale to a volume of buyers, the isolated situation youre talking about is a gallery stumbling on a wealthy buyer who will pay whatever to get one, that doesnt indicate true market value any more than a single high auction were a couple get carried away, what was the name of the gallery, im sure they wont mind you saying as they are happy to advise the print is worth more than 100k. My motives seeing as you address it are long term sustainability rather than get as much as you can as quick as you can. While we're on the subject of motives the fact you own a girl with balloon creates questions.. I presume that the 75k GWB was damaged in some way as an average GWB would sell faster than an high speed dinghy in Turkey....!
I don't think that a high-end gallery would 'stumble' across a wealthy buyer, I think that anyone who is in the market for a GWB would have to be wealthy and to be honest, a 100k+ print is probably at the lower end of it's market.
Long term sustainability? = Sellers parasite Get as much as you can? = Sellers premium
I do own a GWB, my motive is honesty and truth, I ask again, "what is the man's motive whom under-price's another's art...?"
The reply.... "Long term sustainability!"
No hard feelings, but I rest my case.

On the other hand, it's often the case that people who own something often want to talk prices up! There really is no need.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Howard Johnson on Jul 28, 2016 6:08:41 GMT 1, 100K is the foolish spendthrift end of the market.
I have to agree and like Black Apple Art said, it's not sustainable. Whenever an asking price for a print gets up to the 100k level, I ask myself, is this really better then owning a Marilyn? Warhol to banksy is apples to oranges but would anyone here really forgo the most iconic piece of art in the past century for a Girl With Balloon? Marilyn took 50 years to get to a 100k+ price point,* and Girl With Balloon was created 12 years ago. Math+history= Girl With Balloon is not a 100k print.
*yes I reolize Marilyns vary widely in price depending on color, but 100k seems to be the general price point for most colors.

You havent answered which gallery it was advising Girl With Balloon is north of 100k? I have a list clients for Girl With Balloon, some new some seasoned collectors, if someone came to me with one for 90k i wouldnt offer any of them it at 100k at this point for 2 reasons, first i already know none would buy, second it would damage my credibilty and clients faith in my knowledge of the market. Theres always the acid test, put yours up for 100k on here and see how many buyers you get, theres plenty on here capable and plenty who would buy one at what they believe is market value, my advise is if someone is willing to pay 100k sell and buy a canvas which has a much higher long term ceiling or buy liita, barcode and rude copper or any combination of other prints at current market value. I understand the scepticism of my input and blinkered vision as you own one, i dont know posterbob at all but his valuations ive seen have been pretty much on the money and unbiased, not hyping or underpricing. Enjoy your print and good luck with it. Ps by long term sustainability i also meant sustaining the ability for B to continue putting on shows and doing what he does at the level he does

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by valentina on Jul 29, 2016 13:57:40 GMT 1, Banksy Price Check
Thinking about selling some of my prints; Not sure where these stand now, would like opinions:
U/S Welcome To Hell Rat- Red Framed Archival by CMM in Chicago Full PC Certification registered in my name Near Mint (only because it is framed, otherwise perfect condition)
U/S Morons Full PC Certification registerd in my name Minor ripples, agressive edge where paper was cut from source All fixable by a good restorer! (I know impossible to give firm without pics, just want opinions)
Kid on the way, could use the cash. Please don't randomly PM me with low balls! Just looking for an opinion on price in US $. Thanks!

Having been faked so relentlessly over the past 10 years has rendered them worthless.

One has been on eBay for a while at £3,850 (also accepting 'best offers') and it's not going anywhere.

The Applause in that post was unsigned and as Diz says coloured trolleys is signed only.
Unsigned trolleys is significantly less that signed, pricewise that is. Personnally prefer the b/w version to coloured.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Deleted on Aug 3, 2016 21:58:57 GMT 1, Where is that from? I need it for insurance purposes so need actual proof
Can you not just give a value to them and insure it for that ? I just tell my insurance company what i want to insure my prints for and they give me a premium that reflects my valuations. The more i value them at the more they charge me. I usually slap a couple of £k over and above market value should i ever need to replace i have sufficient funds hopefully. I use Directline Select.

I would imagine they only ask proof in case of a claim
