Invader Artwork, VALUATION, by artlife11 on Jan 7, 2020 13:08:45 GMT 1, So what was the winning bid then ? Also interested in that result
Just noticed there is an unsigned one of these on eBay. Should give an idea of value when auction finishes

Invader Artwork, VALUATION, by Matt on Feb 12, 2020 10:00:37 GMT 1,
Nice Space File :-)
Hard to value
Last auction seems to have hammered at 4800€ but that was 2017
Invader prints not yet recovered the from the hike and most stuff seems to sell at sub 5000£, but prices are creeping back up and this is a somewhat rarer image so maybe up to 8000£ if you find the perfect buyer...

Not sure I'd agree with the soft market call; Sotheby's realised the usd1.2m in New York since the previous peak, and Artcurial is about to auction the Rubik mona lisa. I'd say the appetite for Invader works is at a cautious all-time high.
Full disclosure: I hold Invader, however I track sales closely so my comment is based on results not emotion/bias

I am explicitly referring to prints and stand by my point
Invader print and OG market have always been very disjointed (offering good arbitrage options in the past)
Good on you for not being « emotional or biased »...maybe I should get myself checked

Matt - sorry if the last line came across directed at you, let me clarify that it wasn't. What I meant was that people that usually hold something tend to overvalue it because of the associated emotional investment.
I should have clarified too that while I referenced his largest ever sale result, and an upcoming big ticket auction (that I'm sure artcurial is hoping will eclipse Sotheby's, but I'd probably hazard won't), the prices I track are typically editioned works (prints and kits) in a variety of marketplaces including auction houses, ebay, and even what I've been offered for works.
I think the notion of the "peak" is slightly overblown; while there certainly was a huge amount of hype and a lust for inventory from galleries (I'll let the reader infer from that what they will), the demand has remained. What's changed since that peak has been a reasonably high volume of new editioned works released at a number of shows/events including Into the White Cube, Complexcon, an online kit release, and the Paris debacle. A cynic might say that the "bulk" releases on the back of the peak was curious; the same cynic might also question the "validity" of the Sotheby's result - but everything did sell. In regards to prints not achieving results as high as previously, I'd be inclined to point to them being newer releases that were available on the secondary market from more sources (flippers), and taking a hit in realised prices because of that.

Probably around £3k privately. You might get up to £4K at auction but they are hit and miss and a lot seem to pass through the rooms.
