Name my Dog, by met on Apr 17, 2015 1:14:13 GMT 1, I've been harassed by the family into getting a dog and they are already naming it before we have it. We can't agree on a name so thought you lot might have some original thoughts? Will send a small gift if we choose one of the names. The dog is going to be a male french bulldog and hopefully a blue colour (which is grey). My favourite names are Gizmo and Yoda due to the big ears but family not keen. shortlisted are Dexter and Biff. Something Unique would be good, but remember we have to shout it out :-) and no we don't want to call him Banksy. Something double-barrelled would be posh. It may serve him nicely; first impressions count. And the impact of names as social signifiers needs to be considered, along with their potential influence on success in later life.
You wouldn't want any doors shutting for him unnecessarily, or opportunities missed because of prejudice (including at an unconscious level). To illustrate, what would be his chances of securing a job interview if he were called Abdul-Aziz, Xiao-ping or DeShawn?
Bearing in mind also his nationality, I'd go for a name that will sound familiar to him.
How about Franรงois-Davide, or Jean-Philippe?

- Oi

- Rape
Like My Name is Frank, I also approve of You. But just as a nickname โ endearing and intimate, appropriate at home only.
You is of course a contracted form of the proper and full, multi-barrelled name (i.e. extremely posh) to be used in public:

Name my Dog, by uncle on Apr 17, 2015 8:50:16 GMT 1, I had a Bulldog whilst growing up called Bruiser. He was a proper little character would basically do what ever he wanted regardless of trying to train him, but was extremely cute and lovable. Got the hump often and would sulk and go sleep somewhere snoring loudly. Then out of the blue would run up and literally bowl me over (I was 10+) and slobber all over me!
I want one again one day, but I've got my plate full with human kids at the moment...

Name my Dog, by Lunch Special on Apr 17, 2015 13:15:36 GMT 1, Love that the dogs name would come from members of the forum. But only a few names really matter on here so with that said.
Banksy - silly name for a dog not my first choice.
Silky - out of love and appreciation for the forum?
Wiz - pure tribute to a great forum member and contributor.
Fragile - might not sound like a tough enough name but check out his Instagram.
Coach - seems like a cool name for a doggy.
My number one choice for naming your new puppy.
ROBIN - unisex and totally respectful of the artist the hobby and your ladies concerns of naming a puppy after a passion for street art.
