Same could be said about using comic book images in art. Esp-slathered on ladies faces and bodies, but I digress. I won't go there.....

Kunstrasen show, by Wearology on Jun 17, 2015 20:19:52 GMT 1, I would love to get the print to match the canvas version that I picked up a few weeks ago. This should be an instant sell out based on Kunstrasen's popularity. It's very interesting that out of all the images from the show they went with the "Disney" one.

Kunstrasen show, by Fะฏ on Jun 17, 2015 23:43:29 GMT 1, Sorry if this offends anyone, but it is my own opinion. Firstly kunstrasen is a good member here and no problem with him.
However, i do not understand the building this all up to be something special. The images are ok, but most are a bit of fun and not ground breaking. The way some people are talking its like it is the second coming. What is the appeal here and yes the canvas packing may be lovely, but is that why you buy something. Should have chosen the spot remover for a print as well as the disney thing is just cliche. Unless its meant to be cliche, but i have the feeling this is not meant to be.
Weird bubble. each to their own but im edging on the side of caution with all these comments. when someone is talking about the packing and how lovely something rather than the art, it sets alarms.

I agree on the general overuse of iconic characters. I have have this Icon mirror in the bath from 3 years ago but like it because it just makes me laugh and haven't had one visitor who hasn't laughed as well, mom aside. I equate this to the same continual overuse of most iconic symbols and characters as well as Tesco and McDonalds ect. I think some of us see it as obvious or an easy way out by using something that is so universally known. On the flip side, I wonder if Kunstrasen had the B budget to have a quality video animated short made of how this image in the print came to be, if we might look on it differently.

I shouldn't think your comments will offend anyone, most will be wise enough not to take the bait and bite. I'm a big fan of Kunstrasens work, great to see him doing well and slowly building his work over time and getting buyers and collectors along the way. No ones building it up into anything, there's been a few comments about the print if that's what you're referring to. That was a seperate thread but guess a 'Forum Guardian' has moved it over here. The show in Germany was very successful and attracted a lot of buyers. Andy at Castle Gallery is also selling Kunstrasen works. I'm sure all the above are very happy in the 'weird bubble' but thanks for taking a bit of time out to think about us.....
