Not dissing Eelus in the slightest as I love his work and own a gorgeous original canvas from 2008, and quite a few prints, however I was always under the impression that a printers proof was so the artist could try out different colours and sizes of the image being printed and was therefore very unique and not sold as part of a release. Releasing 'unlimited' printers proofs doesn't make sense to me unless they are all unique.
Wouldn't it be better to just up the edition size since his work is obviously in much higher demand now?
Thereby keeping the limited in limited editon?

I also see this as a way of trying a different background colour or use of a different colour within the print ... imo ... I find PPs with something 'wrong' to be much more interesting
To have printers proofs exactly the same as the 'finished' print is a bit of an oxymoron to me.
I appreciate that an artist may give the printer some for himself to keep/sell/trade. That's the way the world goes round.

They told me they were still proofing the print run and did not know yet. I replied by asked if they will be disclosing this once they sort through them. I haven't received a response.
