Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by Poppy Sunshine on Feb 28, 2018 11:14:45 GMT 1, I wasnโt particularly a fan of Picasso until going to the museum in Barcelona last year.
It was fantastic.
Couldnโt resist following this up with a trip to the Minotaurs and matadors exhibition at the gagosian.
The result has left me feeling that I definitely need a special Picasso piece in my collection one day and will really look forward to heading down to the smoke for the Tate bash.

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by Not 4 The Thril on Mar 3, 2019 21:03:32 GMT 1, Whats the deal with Picasso prints? are they just licensed through his estate? My Grandma bought some on a cruise ship and now she tells all her friends she has Picassos. They just look like any other type of poster/print but come with a certificate?

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by emanresuastahw on Mar 3, 2019 21:08:51 GMT 1, I'm sure there are plenty of "posters" out there. these are Limited edition Lithographs released by the Estate.
www.rogallery.com if you'd like to learn more. your. comment was funny though.
These are from a collection commonly referred to as Picasso post death Estate prints.
they're great lithographs and were certainly never available on any cruise ships garbage art store.
Thanks for looking!

Donโt know much about these so genuinely curious These are essentially posters produced after the artists death, they may well be published by the estate, but they are of questionable quality. They are often sold on cruises etc as "Investment grade Picasso prints" I assure you if you were to take these to any reputable auction house you'd be very politely shown the door. Just saying.

If you'll excuse the pedantry, it probably isn't an oxymoron (which refers to a deliberate, knowingly-created expression), but rather a contradiction in terms or a misnomer (i.e. an unintended error).

Didnt see anything posted when i searched but surprised if its been missed!
This little character has turned up at a car boot sale in Sussex. Its been calimed to be real, and claimed to be a fake by a well know forger. Auction house in Brighton is 100% though, having once sold a 4 grand clock. obviously.
Im guessing its fake as buggery, what does the forum think?

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by coller on May 17, 2019 19:59:02 GMT 1, the article seems to provide some decent support for it being real with all that penrose/javier stuff. granted, i know nothing about authenticating picasso paintings.
although if it's real, why is the auctioneer holding it with his bare hands? seems like that would warrant the glove treatment.

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by moron on May 17, 2019 22:56:51 GMT 1, There are tons of lost works out there... and many more forgeries... so who knows till more analysis is done For Picasso there is no analysis done. It's all down to the whim of Claude or Maya Picasso who decide it's genuine or not.
New canvas stapled onto hardboard and the signature definately not by the hand of Picasso. The i is too close to the P for one thing. The line below the name is too close to the bottom of the letters too.
There are sleepers out there to be found for sure but the problem is that if an outsider finds a major artwork. Some authenticators can be corrupt or dishonest and refuse to authenticate it. Auction house experts can missatribute an artwork to a lesser artist too which means the art sells for massively under true value.

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by Deleted on May 18, 2019 9:42:22 GMT 1, It has some interesting details but without any proper provenance I cannot see it being considered a genuine Picasso. I'm no expert but if it belonged to Roland Penrose then it should have some Penrose-related historical evidence, shouldn't it?

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by Pattycakes on May 18, 2019 12:06:47 GMT 1, It is not real, the area with the collection Picasso on the reverse is very suspicious, and the dedication Roland Penrose (as reported elsewhere) is spurious. Penrose was extremely proud of his collection and it was well documented, the Penrose family do not recognise this painting, it is not recorded anywhere in his notes and is missing from any photographs of the collection. Good copy, but a copy it is.

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by Gunny on May 18, 2019 12:12:51 GMT 1, It has had a lot of press and this is the idea to create interest that someone might get a bargain. The fact it is being sold at a small auction house says a lot. Also, the seller won't spend a few thousand for paint analysis, the Penrose estate don't recognise it and no-one important with any real insight is showing an interest pretty much means this is not the real deal.
Clever play by the seller and the auction house to make a bit of dough though!

Pablo Picasso ๐ช๐ฆ Exhibition News โข Art For Sale, by rebate on May 18, 2019 14:53:52 GMT 1, i see one big red flag with it. It seems to be covered in little details that are aiming at prov, but there are just to many of these "little indicators" on one piece. too good to be true on that basis, and my gut just says fake, which i wouldnt ignore if i was buying something. Also if the Penrose connection is denied, then its toast in my eyes.
Its been claimed by a well known forger, but the auction house want him to prove it. Which i guess may be a little tricky if he likes fresh air and seeing the sun. Although he already said he did it, so not sure about that part. Bit weird though.
