Heads Up Fake Ebay offering, by seidbereit on Feb 28, 2008 16:59:57 GMT 1, hi, i have been offered, via email, which looks authentic, a Second chance offer, for a Sepia Morons - Item Number: 150213722392. This is fake, as I know the person who bought it, so there is no such offering. Plus, one fact to make note of, if the offer isnt in your Ebay Messages, then it is a phish/fake offer
Any idea of the print number?
Surely you'd only get a second chance offer if you were originally bidding, right?

Heads Up Fake Ebay offering, by Harveyn on Feb 28, 2008 17:33:33 GMT 1, Golden rule never open an email from Ebay unless you have logged into Ebay independently from the mail you have received. Always, always open mail from your message folder in Ebay.
I have had several fake emails arrive in my Microsoft Outlook that look exactly like emails from Ebay. If you click on these mails you run a very high risk of identity fraud.
I do not know why Ebay send legitimate emails with links. They should stop this practice and send message without links asking you to log in through the normal channels.

I've alway wondered that about the links too... good advice though, I always look in my messages page on ebay and wouldn't dream of clicking a link in one of their mails.

Heads Up Fake Ebay offering, by linderman on Feb 29, 2008 18:43:31 GMT 1, i had a same message for a second offering for sepia a couple of weeks ago, i knew it was a scam straight away because it was sent to my email address only and not on my ebay account and notified ebay, who checked out the email and told me it was a scam.
