Many thanks indeed. You may already have seen it but, if not, Paddle8 has an Art Toys auction ending in two and a half hours (18.00 GMT):
paddle8.com/auction/arttoys/
In the interest of openness and expectation management, here are the current prices in US dollars for some of the pieces you expressed interest in:
- Astro Boy (Gray): $1,000 (9 bids) - Astro Boy (Red): $1,600 (7 bids) - Boba Fett Companion: $2,800 (20 bids) - Companion: Passing Through (Brown): $700 (5 bids) - Companion: Resting Place (Black): $1,800 (15 bids)
A 15% buyer's premium on the winning bid amount, along with delivery costs, also has to be factored in.

KAWS TOYS, by lobster on Jul 9, 2015 20:59:49 GMT 1, Thx very much met - obviously I wouldn't expect to pay those prices which are frankly ludicrous at best ??
I also assume that the sellers would have to pay a commission as well ??
Out of interest will you be going through all the For Sale threads and in the " interest of openness and expectation management " ( whatever the f**k that is ??) putting prices next to other pieces of Art etc that other members are after or am I just blessed ??

Those prices are redicolous! but ebay.com does offer 95% factory sample=FAKE right now..

Out of interest will you be going through all the For Sale threads and in the " interest of openness and expectation management " ( whatever the f**k that is ??) putting prices next to other pieces of Art etc that other members are after or am I just blessed ?? The KAWS Astro Boy (Red) jumped up to $3,200 in the final few seconds, which was surprising to me. I'm not sure about the other toys.
I suppose the current market rates for KAWS toys (or, more accurately, the current rates as suggested by Paddle8 auctions, which have seemed reasonably consistent this year) could indeed be described as ludicrous.
That said, publicly expressed views on subject of pricing do vary dramatically โ usually depending on whether one is listening to interested buyers or to potential sellers. Privately, however, there appears to be greater consensus between the two camps, at least when both sides are equally informed.
My understanding is that Paddle8 sellers pay a vendor's commission of 8% of the winning bid amount, unless their proposed consignments offer them the leverage to negotiate this percentage down.

KAWS TOYS, by lobster on Jul 9, 2015 22:03:22 GMT 1, OK - again thx for that but you haven't answered my question whether you are going to go through all the for sale / wanted adds or am I just fortunate ?
As an example there is a wanted add for an unsigned Love Rat below my thread - are you going to list recent auction results or perhaps the price of the one that is available on eBay and if ( which I assume ) the answer is no then again why have you felt the need to list these prices on my thread ??

Maybe there's a business opportunity we should be looking into here.
What we can do is buy up loads of KAWS toys on this forum, where less-informed members may be willing to sell them dirt cheap. Then we take the toys to Paddle8 and sell them for megabucks!
I'm broke at present, but I look pretty honest โ and I can switch on an easy-going, friendly vibe. So I'll be front of house.
Can you be the financial backer? I'm okay with splitting the profits 50/50.

Man I was thinking the same thing! Unfortunately I've already try to sell some of my street art collection on Paddle8, they were interested in my pieces, but they said that from Italy they can accept only artwork or design object over 10k$ value each.. Anyway, I have a contact in Detroit, maybe passing through him should work! Let'S start make โฌยฃยฅ$!

The seller will probably net around $2,950.
I suspect you will sell yours very easily.

KAWS TOYS, by Inknart on Jul 10, 2015 23:15:22 GMT 1, I recently off loaded all of my KAWS toys through Paddle8.
Just some info on Paddle8. Out of all the Figures that sold only 1 person paid for itโฆ1!!!!!
So after you wait for them to list it a couple months later. Then after a 2 week auction, only one bidder paid for the item. The other buyers have 60 days to pay. Paddle8 also disperses funds 30 business days after they're paid. So theoretically it could take up to a 1/3 of a year to actually sell and get paid for selling on paddle8. If you're looking to flip items quickly, good luck!

I suspect the recent Banksy results also had some bids that fell through. Luckily I have not had the same experience with P8.

Hopefully a little smoother.
For the record, I didn't buy and flip my KAWS pieces, I just feel with all the Bootlegs coming out and the market being the way it is it was a good time to sell. I'm afraid in the near future all of these figures will be indistinguishable, especially the classic 5YL. Only a matter of time IMO before they're hard to sell because of the fakes. Wish it wasn't like that because I adored my OG 5YL and a couple other older pieces. If only they had COA's.
