not sure if they'll be on ebay. In fact the entire exhibition in some ways seems to be fairly under the radar. I think partly because it's not in London, and also the Ashmolean are not massively into self promotion of their exhibitions, they don't really need to be and after all this is Oxford. The Woman in the gift shop appeared really surprised that the signed catalogues sold out so fast at £50 each, and my feelings are that the online sales may have taken them by surprise also. I think they ought to have limited how many one person can purchase, at least online. Jeff Koons was doing at talk at the Sheldonian theatre last night, so it's possible he's signed some more, but that's pure speculation.

The child-like drawing on top is the part Koons did himself, a rare view into his talent.

I was wondering if he is referencing Courbet's The Origin of the World which would also chime well with the classical statuary in subject matter and the idea of 'origins'.  But then it also look like a landscape/seascape.

That flower drawing is possibly the first original work actually drawn by JK.... as the guy doesnt have the skills to create himself the "art" he is famous for. Funny how his whole market is a bubble and he now sells bubbles in front of copies...

Is there someone out there who could share some pics or some info on the catalogue?

 It's funny really that they believe their own hype.

   People like Koons, Hirst etc do not create art they create branded products which are bought by investors.

 The ideas are unoriginal with Hirst's sexed up classical statues and Koons copies of kitch plastic toys etc but made very big and flashy to appeal to mega wealthy types who feel they get value for money because of the size and flashiness.

 

 Having the original idea or thought and paying people or studios to produce the items is not the same as when an artist actually makes the maquette or model with their own hands and a large scaled up version is made by others which is an exact copy, as in the case of Henry Moore and Picasso.

   Given the choice of a painting by the hand of Da Vinci or a painting by the hand of one of Da Vinci's students under his supervision I know which one most people would prefer and for why.
