I will follow up if I have any extras that don't go to friends. Flying in from Dubai overnight tomorrow night, then drive to the closest affordable hotel to the site. Super excited to be going. Amusement and Theme Parks are my career and lifelong interest. The colliding of street art with them is a dream come true.
I've flown in from dubai as well for it - small world :-)

Anyone recommend any decent cheap hotels around Dismaland? I stayed at 'Oak and Glass' which is 5 mins walk max and has free car parking. Was only £70 inc breakfast in a decent sized and very clean room. Its not in the busy part of town so quieter and I would go back. |

Ask to stay in the new part of hotel as its brand new and very clean tidy and warm..... Too warm really lol .

I'd concur with Dibbs that the Savoy is a good choice, although I'd probably pass on their breakie if I went again. But the rooms were clean and the owner was very friendly.

I'd have assumed that the Israeli artists involved are fairly left leaning anyway, even if they had previously fought in the IDF (doesn't everyone there have to?).
I read the bit at the bottom where it said that they have not kicked him out and let him cover his work.
Israel has compulsory conscription as far as I know.
I agree, a lot of Israelis are anti war and get discriminated agaisnt just for being Israeli.
I can see the Palestinian artists right to protest but who knows, maybe the Israeli artist shares his point of view.

This is a shame. He is one of the artists I met that was proudly standing next to his work wanting to talk about it. Seemed a genuinely decent bloke who was so proud to be taking part. Said that he was contacted about 3 months ago and couldn't believe he was asked so props to him for being part of the show. As the piece is now covered up, here is what it was (can't be a spoiler if its covered up!). |

BANKSY "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by mumo on Aug 25, 2015 20:24:34 GMT 1, Not sure if this is of any use to anyone (especially people with young kids; I took my 4 year old) but we arrived this morning at 10:55am. We got to the ticket booth at 11:15am and got our hands stamped. So that was a 20 minute wait. There are toilets just after the ticket booth (handy, if you have kids.) At 11:43am, we got to the "security" bit. So that's about a 30 minute wait. My son loved the "security" but as the staff wouldn't let him in until he stopped smiling, which of course meant he smiled even longer!
I was concerned that it might be a bit scary for young kids, but my son absolutely loved it!
Some of the art is incredible, but the staff steal the show. Various employees did everything from telling my wife to divorce me, to making suggestions that my ripped jeans were a result of me spending a lot of time on my knees whilst performing sexual activities.
Not sure what other info might be helpful. We found the south beach parking really easy (park right on the seafront then stroll straight down to the event.) All day parking was £7, or 4 hours for a fiver.
I'd also suggest queuing immeadiatly for the main exhibition (directly left from the entrance) as soon as you get in as the queues soon get a bit ridiculous.

This was about 1.30pm when they just quickly stuck it on a window in the gift shop (you can see the Somerset watermark). Reckon they will drop a few at a time over the next few days as they only had about 10-15 in a box when I got mine and that was straight away. (sorry it is not rotated!)  Whoever has used this photo on the following ebay listing, could you please REMOVE it. If you are just flipping the print, I do not care, but as you are selling a stolen duck from the show I take exception. I know they was a little mention earlier in this thread. From what I could tell there has been only three with the Royal Mail labels on the back listed, I saw the first one listed back in the day before all this started "last Thursday" the others that appeared after without the labels on the back looked to have been put on by some unscrupulous types who don't mind taking money from honest people for a scrap of paper they did a doodle on that afternoon  . I know..... "If they are silly enough to pay".
I did think the labelled ones were interesting though and is this not just the type of thing our man would do?
Maybe something might be announced in the coming days/weeks?
