The trip hazards alone would prevent it from opening. There were literally dozens of uneven surfaces, drop offs, open water, exposed wires and countless other hazards everywhere with basically no areas off limits no matter how unsafe. The evening I was there they even had an open bonfire which was spitting ash and burning embers everywhere the wind blew and saw many a guests frantically brush them off their clothes several times not to mention the hazard to eyes. For me one of the things that truly added to the "dismal" factor but definitely at the risk of public safety, especially for kids. Not sure who is assuming liability for the park during the event duration but no company in their right mind would insure it in the states. By no means a complaint, just an observation and I think having to bring that venue to "code" would have ruined it.
Normally in Britain, the Health and Safety executive gives the place a visit before permission is granted.
Some Councils are stricter than others.

Oh I'm not saying the proper channels were not used.... The point was that it would have never been allowed to be opened in the US and the countless things they would have had to change probably would have ruined the "dismal" feel. Definitely good logistics by the B team. |

2. Detoxland : You will stop to drink beers and rosé ( in fact I don't want to be in lack, nor to spend all my money in the first pub ( beers, machines ) , and almost all I dont want to have some turista , nor gaz in the train or in the plane ( seats seem very tiny) , or in queueing ( imagine I loose my place for a pee !) .
3. You will salute and respect UK as you have respected your childhood and Johnny Rotten, in 77 !
4. You will change euros against pounds and almost all, you will book tickets !
5. You will ask the staff, at the entrance, where you can meet Banksy for a ( few ) drink or just ot say hallo ( John Lurie have done this for me, and Tom Waits gimme his hand, why not Banksy ).
6. You will buy all the Dismaland goodies that you can find ( apart those already bought before , because of mates, ta ! ) and come with a caddie.
7. You will tell nothing to you old mum ( anyway, she does not care a bit ) , but all tell the secrets to your son ( you will tell him that it is not possible to come, if so, he will be obliged to have in hand an Imbecile Balloons during all the return trip !
8. You will take off your shoes and your socks ( before the 5 th commandment I guess ) and you will spoil the sea with your inflated feet and breathe and smell all this great air from Wales and West Country ) ! I love so much oceans and sea ! ... Pheww.. You can now go to Dismaland !

I couldn't be arsed to fix it for myself. Every hour I don't need to spend on doing anything else but breathe and smile is a good hour. Money doesn't motivate me, but smiling people does. I will try to make you smile Don R
