Its a piece that is aptly described by Andipa.
An early canvas, dating back to 2000, 'Precision Bombing' presents the viewer with the image of a group of silhouettes and a sports car which is being targeted by a green precision gun pointer.
Commenting on war, violence and the state of terror, Banksy illustrates the ever-present treachery which dominates the 21st century.

The one that sold at Bonhams was a smaller variation of the edition canvas and was in shabby condition. The one at Hang up is far superior and IMO a bargain at £50k. Small edition of 10. We all know how this work I agree with you, not everything was sold at the show, many pieces were prohibitively priced and a few of the prints then showed up at a Bonhams auction and were sold there. It was great PR for Banksy and as a result your right, it pushed his prices up. But I do know for a fact the Precision Bombing canvas sold at the show as did several of the reasonably priced canvases and many prints. |
