BANKSY OG I wanted wine women and song… 2005, by Black Apple Art on Aug 14, 2015 19:45:33 GMT 1, Not often an OG lands on the Bay but saw this appear today. Probably the same one that sold last Feb at Phillips but can't for the life of me remember what it went for. Nice plexi job on it.

This work is unique, stencilled by the artist and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Pest Control.

The asking price is laughable for a burned listing and a weak piece. As with any piece, completely subjective, but I actually love this one. Mini original editions of 25 go in the $120k+ range, so if this is listed as "unique" on the COA it's definitely worth quite a bit more. Also asking prices on the Bay are typically very high and can be had significantly lower. Anyway ... great piece. P.S. Would like to see this in a nice vintage ornate frame as well. |

As you're probably aware, the text is a quote by Simon Munnery.
I believe this is a significant factor in the work's perceived value, in that many collectors view it as less desirable than a painting seen to be "100% Banksy". In the absence especially of a graphic to accompany the quote (which in this case would be redundant), Banksy's contribution to the piece is less impressive than it has been with other collaborations he's done.
In case you don't already own it, I recommend Munnery's book, How to Live, published by Pictures On Walls a decade ago and still available for £5.00 plus postage:

many collectors are idiots then, aren't they. any with taste would pay a premium for the munnery association. (being how he's a comic genius and all).
