Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by kunstrasen on Aug 31, 2015 10:52:25 GMT 1, What's up with the Premier League? I should probably say thanks for throwing money at the Bundesliga but can't stop wondering. De Bruyne for 75 million Euro? He's definitely a good one, probably worth 35 millions, had one very good season in Germany now...but why pay more than double that? Firmino also a talented player but most like not worth more than half of what Liverpool has paid. It gets even funnier when talking about Son, who definitely runs a lot but skill wise I'd say is only slightly above average...30 million Euro? Best though has to be Okazaki who is average at the most...within the Bundesliga he probably would have changed for 2 to 3 millions...but 10 million Euro? Even the manager who sold him joking about the money he got for him... All seems a bit mad to me but wondering what an UK football enthusiast is thinking about the money currently paid by the Premier League. Thanks for you feedback!

Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by .dappy on Aug 31, 2015 11:10:24 GMT 1, The EPL clubs are getting silly money from the sale of TV rights - that's without their own income streams for advertising and sales (stadium, shirt and image rights etc) never mind ticket sales.
QPR who finished bottom of the EPL last season 'earned' ยฃ64.8million(!) from finishing last and 'TV' money (sorry for the daily mail link/image)
i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/06/03/08/294EE25300000578-3108205-image-a-9_1433315488679.jpg
So they have the Capital money to splash out what they want, it will be the Operational or Revenue money for all of the wages etc that will the downfall of teams and maybe the EPL itself.

Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by Deleted on Aug 31, 2015 11:10:43 GMT 1, The money Chelsea and Citeeh have is mental. I can only look on in amazement as my team Saints has a 'sustainable' model which means we won't pay crazy wages or transfers. Clubs like Chelea are the exception and if the owner finally gets bored and leaves, things could fall apart very fast. it's not just German based players being picked off by the "big 4 TM" as there's a crazy premium value for English players, e.g. Sturridge for ยฃ45m!
What irks me about the current English game is to an extent the extra costs are being passed on to the fans. For example instead of just having Sky, there's now BT sport, which means that competition in broadcasting is just screwing the fans twice. Plus now the absurd ticket prices, which go up every year is a constant strain on fans and means I have to pick the games I go to very carefully.

Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by Fะฏ on Aug 31, 2015 11:17:01 GMT 1, If manchester city and chelsea were not over inflated with fake money, it would be Arsenal and man utd who won the league for the last 10 years. Apart from LOLerpool last season.

Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Aug 31, 2015 11:39:20 GMT 1, I am still smiling here after watching the mighty Swansea City beat Man utd for the 3rd time in a row, I might have gigsy's face from the dugout as my screen saver
There is too much money I agree and this year the lower sides have spent more on decent signings as the TV money will go up next year considerably so no one wants to go down, this will make the leaugue more closer this year apart from Man City who look like they could piss it? Still early days. I just love the smaller clubs beating the big spenders.
Be great for a lower tier team to break the top 4 and have a crack at the CL..
Money wise I think only Swansea and arsenal make a profit.

Seems like the Premier League lost it..., by Ruggs on Aug 31, 2015 13:23:05 GMT 1, Its not just the Premier League has gone mad on transfer fees. In the Championship Sheffield Wednesday have just bid ยฃ10m for McCormack from Fulham, Bristol City recently bid around ยฃ8m for Gayle (Crystal Palace) and Gray (Brentford) before the later then opted for Burnley instead in a deal that could eventually be worth around ยฃ9m. Middlesborough have had several bids of ยฃ10m+ turned down for Rhodes (Blackburn).
