Betting on a Damien Hirst Comeback , by Deleted on Sept 19, 2015 10:25:03 GMT 1,

Is it a case of trying to rig Hirst prices because these "brokers" have a load of Hirsts on their hands that are falling in value?
Exhibiting at DismayLoan has done Hirst a favour as in tring to keep his art current alongisde todays artists.

Betting on a Damien Hirst Comeback , by met on Sept 19, 2015 18:47:59 GMT 1, >>>‘Hirst is in the same situation as Warhol was in the 1990s. —dealer Jose Mugrabi<<<< Well, Hirst is alive at least. This is indeed the critical flaw in Jose Mugrabi's comparison — and a real stumbling block for those like him who have an aggressive, speculative, art-as-commodity mindset.
There is nothing to prevent a mischievous Damien Hirst from flooding his market with great joy and glee, a pattern the artist has previously followed.
Pure speculation on my part, but I imagine that listening in on a prayer request by Mugrabi could well be a rather unpleasant experience.
My hope is that before Mugrabi himself departs this life, vainglory and legacy concerns (and perhaps even genuine philanthropy) prompt him to establish a publicly-accessible museum which showcases his vast art collection.

Betting on a Damien Hirst Comeback , by Matt on Sept 19, 2015 19:20:15 GMT 1, ^^^what met says
Mugrabi is obviously taking huge risks in stockpiling the works of an artist who has screwed the circuit once over already and not in a small way.
Will be interesting to see how it place out, and can't wait to see the Hirst place in London not for his own art, most of which i do not care for except some of the bigger installations, but for his collection which is bound to be quite special

Betting on a Damien Hirst Comeback , by Black Apple Art on Sept 19, 2015 20:54:37 GMT 1, Complete puff piece as everyone contributing has a vested interest in him. Love how they spin these people as "currently buying up his works" rather than than the truth that they are already holding significant inventory and can't move it to save their life. That aside, his personal collection would be great to see but don't see any correlation between showing this collection and this somehow sparking his demand again.

Yes Hirst is alive and Warhols were bought up and then prices raised by people who controlled the Warhol market.
When people had money to burn.
Even some rumours that genuine Warhols were refused to be authenticated if not owned by certain people.
Who controls the catalalogue raisonne can control the market and Hirst is publishing his own catalogue raisonne.
The artist to watch and to buy now is Chuck Connelly before the big boys grab his past 30 years work.

It looks like the big dealers are not intrested in Hirsts dead animals only his spot and spin and butterfly art.
No i'm not Chuck Connelly but his art was mega high in the 80's till he upset some big players.
Regardless he stuck at it and paints everyday.

I think people still like things to be flat on a wall.
