Recommendations for which galleries buys Banksy art , by The Silence on Oct 3, 2015 10:41:52 GMT 1, I'm not a huge buyer/seller but there are two I've used and seemed very decent, and also nice people. Andy at Castle Gallery, they're in Ireland but not restricted to there so I dealt with him not needing to send anything there, and Oliver Cox at Graffik. I've bought from a few others but these two were knowledgable, realistic (I guess it's their business) and pleasant. Hope that helps?
However if you're selling Banksys maybe put them up on here so people have a chance before there are gallery commissions added?

Recommendations for which galleries buys Banksy art , by dotguy on Oct 16, 2015 23:44:53 GMT 1, Your best bet is to "consign" with a secondary market dealer. I have clients that buy original Banksy works. I get paid by the buyer.. not the seller. Buyers pay me a commission on final sales price, so it's in my best interest to get the best possible price. Galleries usually buy things they can sell for at least a 50% mark-up. That's how they make their money. Auctions charge the seller (and the buyer) a 25% commission.
I always have buyers.. but if you are not comfortable with me.. since I don't post on here often. I can recommend secondary market agents. That's the best way to get the best price.

Could you pm me please...my partner has a large, original Bansy which is being restored. We're unsure what we're going to do with it as it's over 12 feet long & 8 feet high. Thanks, Martin

"Banksy's 2007 work "Police stop & search girl"
The art work from world renowned artist Banksy was created on an outhouse attached to a property in Glastonbury, England in 2007. The property is currently being renovated and the outhouse is to be demolished. The owner cannot afford the fees to get the painting restored so in a bid to prevent it from being lost forever, there is an opportunity for someone to rescue this art work.
In this auction you are bidding for the entire wall on the road side of the outhouse. The owner has contacted art renovation experts who have confirmed the work is salvageable but would require the safe removal of the wall with the layers of paint being painstakingly removed to reveal the original artwork below.
Although Banksy does not consent to the selling of his public work, pieces which have sold have gone for hundreds of thousands of pounds, so this is quite an opportunity for anyone who has the time and funds to invest in saving this one of a kind art work.
Questions are welcomed but in summary, the original art work is below layers of additional spray paint and emulsion paint (please see pictures) and it is a concrete block wall (blocks laid in their side). You are bidding on the entire front wall of the outhouse. The wall is sold as seen and it is the buyers responsibility to safely remove the wall (and artwork) within 30 days of end of auction. Council permits will be required to remove the wall as it is on a road side and this will have to be organised by the winning bidder.
To answer some commonly asked questions regarding restoration costs, the prices received from one restoration company was:
Regarding prices - you have a very important piece in your possession. I would estimate it at £400k+. To remove it would cost in the region of £25k. To restore it would cost in the region of £75k. The whole process would take 9-12 months to do it properly. Our fees are an initial management fee of £10,000 on a 2 year exclusivity contract. When we sell it we would take 25% of the profits (ie sale price minus all your expenses)."
That was an unusual eBay listing.

Sounds like they want someone to pay for the renovation, then pay them to sell it!

You can contact him on the phone or by e-mail and he always makes himself available. I have done several deals with him both big & small and they all have gone extremely smoothly.
