Banksy or Not?, by spirit on Oct 15, 2015 14:02:43 GMT 1, Some people on Twitter are claiming this piece in Green Lanes as being by Banksy
I've told them it's not but they are not taking my word for it...
So I said I'd post here here and get the forum's opinion...
Please vote and feel free to explain your reasons in the thread - thanks.

One of them has an eye patch and what looks like a metal leg support on his shoe. Like Forrest Gump. terrible.

Nope. Style, quality, humour all wrong for banksy imo.

Banksy or Not?, by 11 on Oct 15, 2015 16:23:58 GMT 1, Everything Coach said - and they actually look like they've been sprayed by two different people (IMO) the one on the left looks like it has been done by someone with some experience whereas the left looks very heavy with lots of stencil marks un-filled

That said, at least whoever did do it is out there having a go. Good luck to them.

The point of the question was to definitively resolve a Twitter dispute about whether this piece was or was not by Banksy, by asking an unbiased panel of "experts" (the fine and upstanding members of this forum) to confirm the stated opinion of a random guy on Twitter (me) that this was not a Banksy.
I knew it wasn't a Banksy. I knew everyone here would know it wasn't a Banksy for all the reasons stated. The 100% No vote was exactly what I was expecting - but a certain group on Twitter were stating that it was a Banksy and as no one else seemed to be correcting that mistaken view, I thought I should, particularly when one of them was claiming it was in Banksy's "unmistakable" style (ironic choice of word given he was mistaken...). So I started this thread and posted a link to it on twitter.
A bit of background...
The piece is supposed to represent Turkish president Erdogan (with the bag of cash) and his son (picking up the falling notes). It was put up recently (probably by Kurds or anti-goverment Turks) and defaced almost instantly (almost certainly by pro-government Turks).
Kurds on Twitter were claiming that Banksy's art had been destroyed by Turks.
For the record I am neither Kurd nor Turk nor the artist. I just didn't like to see Banksy's name attached to a work that as others have said is just "wrong" nor used as a pawn in a Kurd/Turk dispute.

Thanks ! Anyway if you begin to wonder if a stencil that you have seen on Twitter or IG is from Banksy, you will have an hard job ... In the top 5?, on these social media there are at least 3 that always come back on ne new feeds and that have been ( wrong )!attributed to Banksy : The kid with eyes up counting " likes , heart " as an addition in Facebook style. The one with Amy W. vomiting hearts. The last in date is the one ( lady Di ? ) at Dismaland by my friend John Doe There is also the great one from Pure Evil, this man robbing in hoodie a circle from the Olympic Games... Some JPS too... And a lot of more ...
