Unsigned - Unstamped ?, by bonsai on Oct 18, 2015 9:43:57 GMT 1, I thought I'd start a thread on the topic of un stamped Banksy prints. I recently have been offered various prints which are numbered, but not POW blind stamped. How many prints in a run would not be stamped? Should I be warey ... I know from discussion there are a few early prints not stamped.
I have bought prints without COA's in the past, but I am even more hesitant to buy a prints with out a POW blind stamp.
Interested to hear your thoughts ...

Unsigned - Unstamped ?, by mouser on Oct 18, 2015 9:57:16 GMT 1, The stamp really doesnt mean that much as far as provenance goes, many of the early prints didnt have a blind stamp, some had a rubber banksy stamp in red or black... There were 2 different early blind stamps (pictures on walls and POW printmakers), not uniformly used until the time of toxic mary release.
many of the fakes kicking about had been blind stamped from the 2009\2010 time, so not much good for differentiating / provenance. The only real thing to ensure its legit is pest control.
I had a signed, stamped toxic mary that turned out to be snide after a trip to Pest control, for the type of cash being demanded these days, its too risky not to trust anything else other than verified pest control.
