Been wondering about that too...I always figured online sales to be a very high % of what a gallery sells but when you see how most websites are built/managed..think I have made inquiry's to almost all gallery's and indeed, roughly 10% of what was on the websites was still available. |

Or when they reply with 'ill tell you a price tomorrow' and 6 days later you are like f**k me it's past tomorrow isn't it? Whilst I am on my soapbox another gripe I have is when a gallery has a work in stock that's not consigned and when you enquire about the price they ask you to make an offer!!! What is that about? This happened to me very recently on an original that was not a Banksy.

Believe it or not I was contacted by a gallery and asked if I was interested in a particular piece, I asked how much as you do and the reply was "don't know, how much would you offer", the piece was in a different gallery, I haven't replied since. The same gallery offered 2 unique pieces I had out on their mailing list with a big mark up on what I was selling for without asking, they'd taken me off the mailing list but a friend of mine contacted me to let me know, I contacted them and they said "you're not the only one who gets unique pieces" like these were different pieces, uniques unique, not mentioning names, they know who they are. I should say there are good galleries like Prescription etc who are straight and decent, I'm not bashing galleries to make myself look better, just practices of a select few, I buy off other galleries as well so I know how frustrating these things can be as a customer.
