I first registered here in 2011 to discuss the documentary I made with Richard Duardo about his work with Banksy on the Barely Legal Prints. Maybe you've seen it. It's called 'Printing Banksy' and you can find it on YouTube. Many collectors have told me how my documentary helped to set the narrative on the uniqueness of the LA editions in the collective collector consciousness. It is reflected in the higher prices we see them fetching as well. Yesterday I listed a print in the bay and I've encountered some strange unfounded claims in my message inbox today so I thought I'd jump over her to see if there is a thread and low and behold. This particular post is in response to a gentlemen that sent me the following 'This one is fake' . I'm sure you can all agree that I could have better spent the day responding to this well thought through, solidly evidentiary based, expertly argued claim instead of walking the park with my girlfriend and the dogs. Afterall the member with the ebay handle 'india77' sells watches making him an expert on Banksy authentication right? Surely his claims in his listing of ..100% ORIGINAL - 100% GENUINE are better than my serialized Pest Control COA and I should drop everything to respond to his well reasoned, eloquently delivered argument. I'm down to participate in a thread here to debate the validity of Pest Control COAs if that's even possible given the multifaceted security scheme with serial number and archival photos on their end. Can someone make that case that it's even possible? I nominate india77/irl1 since he's such an expert on authenticity in the watch arena. Or maybe posterbob would like to head up the panel to explain to us all how Pest Control is now meaningless. As for claims it's better to work with a member ... I've been one for 7 years. Here I am. I'll establish this as a forgery in the simplest way possible. Email Pest Control and ask them to verify that the print is real and then post a screenshot of the reply. You won't do it and we all know it.

For all intents and purposes I'm an expert; I've owned well over 30 Banksy prints over the years. I know a fake when I see one and both the print and the COA are pathetic forgeries. Unfortunately, I cannot go into detail as to why because if I did you could then try and fix the errors and fool someone. I'll establish this as a forgery in the simplest way possible. Unless they used a completely different screen just for this single print from the edition it sure seems to be a reproduction based on the pictures shared. I do own this print (a high number from the edition) and there are extremely obvious differences upon comparison.
Instead of the long reply just share the coa and edition number for what would be a very quick reply by PC to verify? Problem 100% easily solved on your end.

I saw a show on it a while back and this poor guy had lost thousands over the years buying football memorabilia. It's a shame we live in a world like this. But it's great we have people on this forum who share their knowledge and experiences to help prevent it happening more and more.

That being said, COA confirmation with PC has already been initiated by someone doing proper due diligence.
It would be far better if the seller completed this due diligence. Would have been even better if the now seller completed the same due diligence when he was the buyer of said print.

Sorry, not sure if Its clear if you bought the print with the pest control, or you applied and received it from pest control?

I don't believe that though because of the lengths he went to to explain the "irregularities" (I believe that's the term he used) of the print and framing a poor condition turd instead of restoring it is always suspicious.
