Seth Globepainter ๐จ๐ต Julien Malland โข Paris Street Art, by Daylight Robber on Dec 26, 2018 21:24:00 GMT 1, I know the French don't have a bank holiday like we do today but I was still a little surprised to hear from Idem regarding sending my damaged print back. They've suggested that I'll have to cover costs for the return. Not hugely chuffed about that. Just checking but was it Idem or Seth.fr who you contacted? The purchase agreement was with Seth.fr (Lโลil dโHorus SARL) so you should be dealing with them. Their terms and conditions (section 9, Garanties) seem to indicate that the return of a defective item should not incur extra costs for the buyerย seth.fr/en/terms-and-conditions/ย Having said that, my French is a bit rusty so maybe a native speaker could chip in here. If you've paid with PayPal, you might also have additional protection that you can letย Lโลil dโHorus SARL know you would use if you can't reach a resolution with them. I agree with other posters that it seems a bit daft to waste money on shipping an item that is likely to be destroyed anyway but if they insist on it, they should pay! Hope you manage to get it sorted.
Cheers. My French isn't too bad but if I get stuck I'll ask the French wife to translate. Don't want to get into too much of any kind of dispute as I really want the print. A bit worried they might refund the lot!

In less exciting news, my print arrived in perfect condition, even though the tube took a beating in transit. Looking forward to framing this one up

I really got lucky on this one. One end of the tube was completely destroyed, so much so that the actual tube ended up with a tear/hole in it. After inspecting the print in great detail I was overwhelmingly relieved that it had sustained zero damage. Leaving it at the framers for a week or two to flatten out before framing.
What are people's thoughts on how they'd frame this one? I'm thinking float against a black matting to help make the deckled edges pop. Then possibly getting a little wild and doing 4 different bright colors for each of the 4 sides of the print. I couldn't fit the two different colored frames at the bottom of the photo but this could be fun to play around with.....or I could keep it simple like usual and stick with a white frame. Any suggestions are always welcome and helpful!

Very lucky.
Curious to know the length of your tube (ooo err missus). Was no room to spare at either end of mine. Less damage to the tube, but was enough to crease the print in several places.
Have established it's going to cost me +ยฃ70 to return it insured. Not too chuffed.

Sorry to hear your print arrived damaged. If itโs alrwady damaged, why do you need to send it back insured? Maybe you can agree with the print releaser that you send it back tracked but uninsured?

Seth Globepainter ๐จ๐ต Julien Malland โข Paris Street Art, by jkesquire on Dec 27, 2018 15:43:28 GMT 1, Daylight Robber I'm sorry to hear that! That can really leave a bad taste in one's mouth. I was expecting some serious damage to mine and somehow made out alright.
As for the length of my tube, I guess it would depend on my level of excitement at the given moment.....but I can certainly measure my Seth tube when I get home and then get back to you

It's a dilemma and a question I've put to them but insurance is for loss as well as damage and I'm liable for ensuring it's returned to them. If it goes missing altogether, I'm not sure where I'd stand.

Good point Can I suggest that you suggest to them that you destroy the print and send them photographs of it destroyed, and they then send the replacement. They can then number the replacement the same number as your damaged one, without the integrity of the edition being affected. This would take away the need for the damaged print to be returned. This is reasonably common practice I believe.

Who's picking up the cost of the return though? They may well think it's too nice to be destroyed, but I don't consider a damaged ยฃ650 print nice enough to hang on my wall. Not sure why I should now be paying 10% more, through no fault of my own, for the privilege of maintaining someone else's vanity.

Seth Globepainter ๐จ๐ต Julien Malland โข Paris Street Art, by Daylight Robber on Jan 15, 2019 23:45:52 GMT 1, An update.
After plenty of communication with a very helpful Alexandra (contact at Seth.fr), and after discussing the advice offered up here, it was agreed that I could destroy the damaged print rather than return it. It seems as though it was perhaps Idem who were originally wanting the return, but as they were closed for the Xmas & new year period they couldn't confirm.
Anyway, replacement is now in hand and it was well worth the wait. Straight to the front of the framing queue.
Should probably say, that despite the original being damaged, I did actually find it very difficult to put the scissors though it.

Congrats on the new print! UAA to the rescue Indeed. Thanks one and all for the advice and how to approach things. Very very much appreciated.

Seth Globepainter ๐จ๐ต Julien Malland โข Paris Street Art, by Daylight Robber on May 15, 2019 15:35:54 GMT 1, Seth will be releasing a timed release print with Fabian Castanier Gallery this weekend.
The print is sized 28 x 19.25 in. (71x49cm) and priced at $190 + free domestic shipping.* It will be signed and numbered on 300g cotton fine art paper, and with a certificate of authenticity. It will be made available for purchase for only 48 hours, Saturday May 18th through Sunday May 19th.
I might be biased, being a big Seth fan, but it's a cracker of an image

Seth Globepainter ๐จ๐ต Julien Malland โข Paris Street Art, by soupy on May 15, 2019 22:38:19 GMT 1, i found it odd that only 10% goes to these 2 schools when it is through seth's own charity. i can't imagine this being a HUGE edition and so 5% to each school probably won't amount to a whole lot.
