Nick Smith π¬π§ Pixelated Art β’ Colour Swatches β’ New Print, by Young Squire on Apr 30, 2021 6:30:35 GMT 1, Does anyone have any idea how much a Van Gogh OG (full size ed of 5) might go for these days?
You could pick up the edition of three OG from Samuel Owen for $11,500 a couple of weeks ago...

Nick Smith π¬π§ Pixelated Art β’ Colour Swatches β’ New Print, by frax on May 9, 2021 7:10:23 GMT 1, Out of curiosity: Haven't followed this release but from the number on the page (opensea.io/accounts/rhodes-contemporary-art), does it really mean that the gallery only sold - 6 NFTs of "Girl with the pink earring" - 5 NFTs of "Mona Lisa" - 11 NFTs of "Van Gogh"? ...each out of 50 available.
If this is right, this sale was a big flop. Feel rather sorry for Nick as he is a great artist. But as sad before, his style doesn't work by simply digitazing it...
The next brilliant physical prints are coming for sure and will again sell quickly

Nick Smith π¬π§ Pixelated Art β’ Colour Swatches β’ New Print, by Sebastian Dusseldorf on May 9, 2021 7:38:59 GMT 1, Can somebody pitch this to me? The Van Gogh was released as a physical signed print for 195Β£ in an edition of 50. Now you can get a jpg of this one for the equivalent of 860$ also in an edition of 50. So you have no physical experience of your purchase, the artist never touched this piece, you don't have anything exclusive as there was an original and print already (and with the hype it's all about exclusivity and scarcity) and you should pay a huge premium vs. the initial release. I think 11 sold copies are a huge success (if they were actually sold and not only moved to another account of friends and family to make this looking somehow appealing). I would actually love a girl with pink earring for my wall, so please tell me what mixture of cocain and Crypto obsession you recommend for me to consider this a reasonable offer?

The problem is you and others are trying to treat the nft like a physical artwork or how to display it. The image or jpeg is just the by-product or a visual representation of the scarcity. The value is with the future blockchain

That is super helpful. Thanks. So the 50 NFTs have the advantage of being super scarce, while the 50 printed versions merely get their value from potentially fulfilling some old school need of looking at art. Makes sense. A lot.

π I guess I will always be the old fashioned art lover enjoying a physical piece on my wall...
In my opinion, art NFTs only make sense in combining them with a physical artwork to represent its COA and therefore providing forgery-proof provenience. But certainly there are also people out there enjoying digital art...

Itβs all a bit mind bending but Iβve narrowed it down to XRP, XLM and Binance. Any experienced advice would be appreciated.

But I am interested in the motives behind this. Genuine question - is this new trend entirely about money/investment? Not really about art at all? I can understand the motives if so. I appreciate that for a lot of people buying physical art has the same motivation. Or am I missing an actual aesthetic/art loving motive? If so, what is it?

Have some ADA holdings that are doing nothing. Also invested in HNT, and have bought an access point / miner because I believe their technology is great, and that Helium could well be a massive grower over the long term. I am not an investment advisor, however.

If Banksy farted in a bottle - people would buy one. People will buy anything from Banksy. NFT or a fart.

I find it odd when people here claim to know the intentions of everyone else! Itβs bold. I still donβt know why I would want at part with hard earned money for something that I canβt see or touch, when I could buy something else to hang on my walls. Itβs seems to be taking keeping art under the bed or in cupboards, never seeing the light of day, to the next level!

I have a bit in crypto as a speculative investment, and because I think some of the technology is really cool; Helium hotspots provide internet of things data transfer in return for being able to mine currency in a sustainable, non-Bitcoin way. Honestly think it could be a game changer for smart sensors like air quality monitors and road congestion tracking. I work in IT, I love tech, I spend stupid money buying gadgets, and follow pretty much every trend, and have done for the past 20 years. I invested in Bitcoin early and sold early - made some money, but a LOT less than I would have had I kept them! But I also think that NFTs are going to be the Beanie Babies of the 2020s. Prices are ridiculous, many rely on sites or private blockchains that could disappear, and most importantly, art looks shit on a screen. A hi-res image of the Mona Lisa would almost definitely show more detail, but I know which one Iβd rather have. If anyone wants to quote this post for posterity, I will happily go on record to state that by the end of the decade, NFTs will be worth at most 10% of their current value. They are utterly pointless.

It's the best for my mind. I'm sorry for all of you that PMed me every time I put this up for sale, I promise this time is for real. I'd let this go for 8 k Β£ (cost was 6.5 k, only a reasonable mark up to get the Thierry Noir new canvas). This is the 426 chips first edition collage.
Ciao!

Ok so, after changing my mind 10 thousand times, I have decided no auction houses and no major flipping. Ciao! Hi Is this an original or edition of 3? He made 3 collages, not prints, 3 originals

They are 3 exact replicas (I mean, as exact as humanly possible)
