Advice Using t hinges when framing banksy flying copper, by singyart on Nov 27, 2015 10:55:45 GMT 1, Hi, just after some advice. I recently bought a banksy print as both an investment and to put up on my wall. I've taken it to a framers to get it framed and they have said the recommended way to mount it would be to use two t hinges at the top of the print on the back as recommended by the fine art trade guild.
alternatively they said they could using large conservation corners but they may not be good enough to hold the print in place as it is 100cm tall.
do you think the hinges is the best way to go and will they not damage the print Incase I want to sell it in future?
thanks for your advice

Advice Using t hinges when framing banksy flying copper, by Hubble Bubble on Nov 27, 2015 11:56:28 GMT 1, Good questions and congratulations on your purchase. Fabulous print.
(Anyone wanting to sell a signed one… hit me up)
I would trust this particular print to one of the framers favoured by the forum. In no particlar order… mr frame man, pauli frames, John Jones. There are others, of course.
These are all UK framers.

Advice Using t hinges when framing banksy flying copper, by Deleted on Nov 27, 2015 12:46:05 GMT 1, I don't know what you mean by t hinges, when my framer frames my prints they use conservation hinges but use more than 2 as my prints are mostly float mounted. So there is no mount to rest against the print. Do not by any means let the framer frame this until you are 100% happy with how they will go about it. IMO I would contact Gary at Mr Frameman he is top bloke.

Advice Using t hinges when framing banksy flying copper, by singyart on Nov 27, 2015 14:03:12 GMT 1, Hi, Thanks for your replies. I have asked the framer to go ahead and he is using 2 acid free t-hinge mounts to attach the print at the back to the mount board which is also acid free, and using UV glass. I am happy that this should be ok, and if I do ever sell the print unframed in the future, I will make sure I take it to a gallery to remove the print from the frame and remove the hinge mounts so the paper isn't damaged.
I'll post a photo when I get it back.
Thanks
