The phenomenon has been studied for almost a century, and the jury is in: immigration either improves work opportunities and wages for the residents (this is the most common empirical finding) or (in the worse scenario, and found less often) has no effect at all. Furthermore, immigrants pay to the social security systems (in Europe and in the US) more than they receive, they commit fewer crimes (see a zillion papers cited several posts ago), and the total impact on public finances is positive.

Domestic and gang violence is a criminal offence as far as I know and normally dealt with by the police in the country that it takes place in. I did not know that victims of crime could apply for asylum in other countries.
So what happens when someone in Europe, lets say a white European for the sake of argument. Better still lets make it a white non Jewish European, is a victim of domestic violence or gang crime as in gang rape etc. Can they have asylum in the US too or another country?
Anyway, better to have border control as Trump is doing to keep out domestic abusers and gang criminals than to let them all in like Merkel and Sweden has done.

Take the whole plastic soup problem. In the western world we are being taxed to death and patronized like 5 year old for using a plastic straw. Meanwhile, 95% of all the plastic in the oceans ends up there through 10 rivers. Eight of those are in Asia, 2 in Afrika. Zero are in the USA, zero in Europe.
Perhaps the millions of people throwing their plastic waste in the river could stop doing so, before people feel the need to harrass me for using a plastic bag (and recycling it after it has been used 20 times).
