I don't think these will sell out that quickly, Melbourne's just not that big into these sort of things. We'd rather spend our money on artisanal coffees (?), donutellas, and at the exorbitantly priced Night Noodle Markets/Food Trucks.
They were $1500 before today, they have actually been pre-selling a few since Wednesday. I bought mine for $2k at midday. Gallery only opened at 10am.

Just tried to buy more for forum members and was told I can't.
They are selling a few. I asked how many they have left but couldn't get an answer. Just saw a guy buying what I believe was number 69. Maybe about 30 left?
I wouldn't be surprised if the price increases to 3K by tomorrow.
By the way, they are beautiful.

The store manager said that she has been receiving non stop calls from overseas buyers, but they arent willing to take the risk to ship such a valuable and fragile item.
The numbers are random, so if you get a low or high number, its luck of the draw (doesnt affect value either way).
The peony is incredible!! The detail on it is really breathtaking. There is no doubt at all that these will very quickly hit $xx,xxx . I would expect 90% of buyers to be keeping this in their permanent collection.
Aside from that, the actual Warhol & Ai Weiwei exhibition was amazing. Definitely one of the top 3 exhibitions I have ever seen. I was VERY lucky to meet Weiwei in person and get a selfie with him and my kids.
