DFace Japanese Rising DDog, by mikehaspey on Jun 28, 2014 11:40:53 GMT 1, Reluctantly looking at moving this piece on as it's a big old frame and I just don't have the room to display it.
This 'Japanese fighting D-Dog' or 'Rising Sun J-Dog' is a Screenprint on thin paper, originally printed as a paste up.
There were 10 of them given out to the first 10 in the queue to his 2012 Japan show.
This is the only one if the 10 which has the original doodle on it, also signed and stamped.
As expected, with this paper there are various light creases, totally unavoidable, I personally think it adds to it and gives it that urban feel with it originally being destined for the walls.
Framed professionally using conservation materials / processes, mounted into foam board (fully reversible) and then floated in this white frame - framing cost was ยฃ150.
Will be collection only, couldn't post this, frame measures 117 x 87 cm, print itself measures 89 x 64 cm.
Open to offers on this, looking to sell so can discuss with any interested parties.

I believe it is a screen print edition of 10 on thin wheatpaste stock. In terms of price, its going to depend heavily on your buyer. Its a rare piece, so a diehard fan might pay as much as 500-600 GBP. On the other hand, the image isn't particularly compelling and the thin stock creates noticeable waviness so I would conservatively expect around 200-400 GBP for a private sale. Hope that helps.

Sadly by leaving it in a tube for 11 years you have really hurt it. Not quite destroyed it but you will never get it flat. Whatever the value is it's probably 20-50% in that condition. Art should never be left in tubes.
if it's not worth much I would put it in a steamy bathroom between two pieces of cardboard and put some books on top for a few days (steam it a few times).
If it is worth a lot Id take it to a paper repair person but this is never going to be fully flat with no damage.

I'm with Lunch Special, no problem at all sorting out, I guess you can go as far as you want as far as flattening, doesn't detract from the fact its a great print.

Iโve been a member since 2008 (different name now cause lost my account password when we went to Proboards) and there are still good guys on here. Admittedly fewer and far between now. Iโve bought from you in recent times and have to say you were the perfect seller - good comms, well packaged, speedy delivery and we had a decent online chat about a price that worked for both of us. Think the forum reflects a general society issue - guessing it has something to do with the rise and rise of social media. Iโm in my 50โs and to be honest have made a conscious effort not to get involved in the likes of Facebook, Twitter etc - seems to be largely negative and poisonous, plus I really donโt have the need to share my every move or action with the world. I was just looking through some really old issues of the VNA zine (nos under 10) and it brought home the raw excitement of the art and activity in the early days (late 2000,s) plus as you rightly point out there was much more of a face to face (or at least respectful, banter rather than abuse online) existence.
