Same seller had an Opium print a couple of weeks ago that sold then was re-listed and finally sold at below what these should go for. There are some very good threads on Hirst fakes in the old sales threads.

There has been a fair bit of documented history on here from years back about the Fake Hirst Prints from Eyestorm. I thought even Eyestorm had made some kind of statement (I could be wrong) Prior to buying my Hirsts from Other Criteria a few years back, I looked at these too but ending up giving them a wide birth as it was too much of a risk to take. Didn't fakes also get sold at top auction houses a few years back?

So has someone actaully bought this? or fake bidding?

Awful to see this end at £4800 if it's fake. Someone throwing a serious amount of money out the window.

For that kind of money you can buy a Hirst sketboard with original drawing.

Plus a ltd edition genuine print.

The LAMBDA process is for very expensive professional machines Epson doesn't make--you can't use that paper on an "Epson". It's not an inkjet. I've looked into this and I've seen actual fake prints right next to real ones--side by side comparison--there's not a person on this board who's done that. This isn't speculation or assumption (as this board tends to be) this is fact done with diligent research. ; this isn't "something I heard" or "a guy told me" or just speculation or just plain BS. The fakes DO NOT have the FCA on the back and you can't run FCA on "an Epson". The fakes are just inkjets on glossy paper.

Besides inkjet printers not being able to use FCA  paper, there's a huge difference in paper weight--the Fuji Lambda prints are thick and substantial. The colors are very deep and saturated and vivid--almost 3D-like. The white is slightly more yellow on the FCA paper versus the fakes--which are a vey bright white. The real ones are very, very glossy--mirror-like. Fakes are glossy, but much flatter--certainly not mirror-like. You can see your reflection in a real one--you can't in a fake. On fakes you can scratch the color dot--you can't on real ones--they have a protective clear layer: on fake prints the color is ON TOP of the paper--as inkjet is just sprayed ON TOP of paper; with the Lambda/FCA paper process, the image is projected photographically: BETWEEN the silver halide color paper and glossy top layer--which is both a protective coating and artistic texture choice. This is a process for professional shops and it's expensive--fakes just aren't made in the process. CAN it be done in that process? Is it POSSIBLE--sure it is. But the fact is past fake's weren't--I've seen them, held them. 

This is really all I can add to this topic. I've tried to do it in the most professional way possible and laid out the facts based on research. Take this advice or don't--no matter to me. I'm just trying to be helpful. I'm sure there will be naysayers and rude commentary--but whatever, I'll take that with a grain of salt because I know what I'm talking about--THEY DON'T.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, so this will be my last post on this subject. I'd normally not respond, but it just irks me when people state as fact things that are simply not true. Or cannot prove. I'd normally not be so anal, but with forgery, the devil is in the details--and the minutia counts for everything.

You're both dead wrong on both counts: No Epson printer, or similar, is compatible with Fuji Crystal Archive paper. Period. Here's a list of all FCA compatible printers to illustrate my point; all are high-end, very expensive machines:  www.fujifilm.eu/eu/support/photofinishing/color-management

Zippy pretty much knows his stuff when it comes to printing. That said it would be fun to take him up on his offer just for a laugh.

I however know very little about printing. What I do know is given the amount of doubt surrounding these prints I would not purchase one myself even if Damien was the seller. The fact that prices have declined so much would appear to indicate that the market it agrees. I appreciate some of the decline will also be down to the number of spot prints the market has been flooded with.
