Import/Export Tax, by pklong17 on Dec 21, 2015 16:58:54 GMT 1, Hello Forum Members,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Patrick, I am located in Chicago. I have made a handful of purchases from forum members, and am currently working out a deal for my first Banksy print. A fellow forum member has been gracious enough to be of great help through the process and has warned me of possible import/export tax. I would like to know whether I should expect to be hit with an additional tax either before it leaves the UK or once it arrives in the states. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Regards, Patrick

Import/Export Tax, by Happy Shopper on Dec 21, 2015 17:22:46 GMT 1, In the UK we get hit with Import Duty on things coming in, not going out. I don't think you have the same thing in the US though, so shouldn't be charged anything extra
(Edit: I could be wrong, and usually am!)

Import/Export Tax, by WILLYBKLN on Dec 21, 2015 17:39:24 GMT 1, pklong17 have purchased many pricey artworks from the UK over the years, the import tax if the full value is declared is pennies..nothing to worry about just make sure its listed as original art on paper or art on paper and not some other type of goods.

(did in CA anyway - maybe a state thing)
