Banksy new print release?, by DrArtistic on Jan 9, 2016 19:43:05 GMT 1, I've been refreshing both PC and POW for a long time now, I understand things have been busy since Dismaland but with work popping up at Calais I assumed some new prints would soon be released, anyone care to have a go at guessing when? lol

He sets his own bar pretty high so very much looking forward to the next act. Personally hoping for an official exhibition at the Tate which is long overdue and more than well deserved.

Hear what you are saying but would hate to think Banksy "beyond" bring shown amongst other names who have made significant contributions throughout history. I think we would all agree there are artists in the Tate and others occupying football field sized spaces that haven't made a fraction of the impact Banksy has. I know now it's more of a ego battle now but it seems just a matter of time now even though his not being there is more quite a statement in itself

I reckon it wouldn't be too ambitious for him to turn the whole of the UK into one giant egghunt, with people looking for clues as to where the next Banksy piece is hidden, would be easy for PC to issue COA when only the true owner knows where they found the particular print... inspired by the free art malarkey at Dismaland

IMO would be stellar to see his vast body of work over the past 18+ years in one location, installations, prints, OGs, video, new works ect ect. I'm sure he and his team would put a fresh spin on it. A bit weird to have Banksy books front and center and all through the Tate bookstore and gift shop without a single mention or piece in the museum itself. |
