Just a quick heads up that we have listed a dr.d 'H.M.P. London' railing board on eBay. We wanted to give a chance for someone to get one cheap, so starting price is 99p with free shipping. We really would advise that you do not bid more than 250 quid, since that is the retail price anyway and the whole point of this is that someone gets a bargain.

We are offering free stuff, we are offering the opportunity for people to get stuff cheaper than retail, and we are even offering a free flight to the Berlin show in June. We have also pointed out other places, such as Art-El, where the sold out items can be obtained at absolutely no profit to ourselves. We have also offered to authenticate street pieces if people feel an overwhelming urge to run off with them rather than leave them where they are. This pretty much gives the widest available choice to people and leaves the decisions as to how to get hold of work with them and their morality. This has very little to do with cash for us and a lot to do with making works available to the most people at the least cost.
As for posting pictures, all the pics are posted on the website including sold out works and we have also posted Flickr links of street pieces and YouTube film links.
Whatever we do, you complain. Maybe you should just stop reading our posts.

Don't know why people are having a go at s-editions, considering a lot of people put their work on ebay and even POW use to sell there, so give them a break eh!

I recall Legalactiongallery did the same with the AME72 AP's, but they didnt release the AME72 for general sale till after the ebay auction, which meant no one would have gotten pissed off

I personally hate the HMP image by Dr D, but that self-portrait is cool and there are some other pieces I quite like on the site and whether I buy has very little to do with what s-editions says on here, more just whether Ilike the art enough to buy it.

We were kinda hoping people would buy the art based on whether they like it or not, since that is the best reason to buy art. However, we also wanted to make it available to people at all levels of income and not price anybody out. Call it or 'doing the decent thing' if you want, or 'socialism' if you prefer. Remember that old 1970s philosphy? It's when people pay according to their means. As Gilbert & George have always said 'Art for all!'.
As for complaining about the prices of the 'H.M.P. London' railing boards we have already sold, we set the price of those £120 below the price of ones that someone took off the street and sold on eBay ie. a market price had been set by others well before we offered them for sale and we came in well below that. However, we still want to pay our artists well so that they and their families can eat, and so that they can afford to do all their stuff on the streets. The street stuff is not cheap you know.
The reason the eBay auction was set as private was for exactly the same reason we do not advertise the names of our other clients - it is nobody's business who buys what. Do you expect your name to be advertised every time you pop into Tesco, Harrods, Netto or wherever? Thought not. There would also not be a whole load of point in us shill bidding, since we have already suggested nobody bids above £250. It would also be incredibly dishonest and seriously impact on our abilities to sleep at night.
As for the person who has nominated us as one of the worst art sellers, well done on not letting an opinion get in the way of the facts. We would be equally surprised if we were nominated by you as one of the best sellers, since you have never ordered anything from us and you do not really have anything to go on, positive or negative. In recognition of your standards we will be canceling your entry for the free draw.
