Shop Airlines Europe B.V. , by Deleted on Jan 30, 2016 12:01:42 GMT 1, I sold a canvas on a well know auction site a couple of days ago and the winning bidder was Shop Airlines Europe.
I've done a bit of digging and they appear to be a middle man / shipping agent (Yamato Shipping) for Japanese clients who get better shipping rates through using this company.
Have any forum members had any dealings with them? I am very dubious about sending a canvas to them (over £500 in value).
My postal insurance would only cover sending to their base in Middlesex. The worry is the canvas is damaged during the journey to Japan. I am certain this shipping company would then try to claim a refund further down the line if the canvas was damaged and I would be scuppered.
Maybe I'm being paranoid but it all seems a bit dodgy. Any thoughts or previous experience would be appreciated.

As far as I'm aware (and I stand to be corrected), your obligation is to deliver the item safely to the address of the buyer listed on either paypal or ebay. You're not responsible for what happens on its second leg of the journey. If the eventual recipient is unhappy with the condition or if it arrives damaged, their issue should be with the "middle men", as they will have checked it and repacked. Kind of like eBay's global shipping programme.

I am maybe get myself worked up for nothing but if the scenario arose where the Japanese client received a damaged item and then claimed a refund from the shipping company the shipping company could then, in theory, file a claim for a damaged item through ebay and there would be every possibility that their claim would be upheld.

But if you get it all tracked and signed for, if the eventual buyer in Japan complains, possibly weeks after the Middlesex address signs for it as A-OK, I'd hope that you would be fine. It's a bit like me selling a painting to dan, dan receives it with no complaints, then sells it to chris, but if chris isn't happy with how it arrives, then that's not my responsibility.

2 days if express shipping from uk to Japan. If a claim were to counter , your contract is tied into the buyers PayPal postage address only , just keep all correspondence and forward if any claim on damage post after uk bound were to happen .. Personally too many scams happening with PayPal now

i just had them buy auction E B a y item which was on buy now or best offer and they bid the full price by pay-pal but after doing some research online I will not send it have cancelled the e B a y transaction ,
as they have a lot of negative posts , also in pay pal page it was showing as ineligible for sellers protection as if there is any, also sellers complaint about charge backs for doing charge backs on pay-pal as it was a 3k item I will not risk it as compared to a few pounds
and thanks for putting your posting as it made me aware , as well as looking various sites on line
