My experiences on the customer-service level with Flight Logistics have always been excellent. They are a true pleasure to deal with.
That said, for cross-border transactions, the company doesn't work in isolation. It is reliant upon business partners, and it's occasionally at the mercy of customs officials.
By way of specific example, one carefully-packaged item I sent from the UK to the USA happened to be opened and inspected by US Customs. In their cack-handedness, they noticeably damaged the expensive photograph inside.
The incident was in no way the responsibility of Flight Logistics; it was outside of their control. What I'm simply trying to caution against is unrealistic expectations and a false sense of security.

I bought an expensive print from a fellow forum member in London and i used FL. It was packaged in a wooden crate by the owner but inspected by FL and they were happy with it, infact they advised that they were extemely impressed by it, took my £300 and it was duly shipped.
It arrived a few days later, im in Scotland, covered in size 12 footprints despite being stamped "fragile, this way up, do not step" etc etc. It was only due to the robust packaging by the owner that this was not damaged beyond repair. FL used Citylink (now defunct) to ship this and I was surprised that they did. It was the first time i had ever had such an item shipped and i was expecting a specialist courier like the one MFM uses. The print seller, who stores and ships art regularly, hence the excellent crate it was stored / shipped in was astonished that FL would use a courier of this ilk for such an item.
So whilst the folks / service at FL is all good they remain only as good as their courier and in my case it was crap. FL couldnt apologise enough but that wouldnt have mattered if the print had been damaged.
I have used them again for tubed items trouble free but if i had a crated item i would insist on approving the courier and if they offered up the run of the mill couriers in the UK i would go elsewhere.
