I don't get Kaws..., by Complex iCom on Feb 9, 2016 20:16:21 GMT 1, I think his paintings started working for me when I got into the idea that they're next generation pop art with the 'street art' element, like Basquiat or Keith Haring who had a kind of graffiti/pre-street art connection, works on walls plus Futura shared a studio with Basquiat and was a close friend of Haring. Kaws is also in the Superflat area too, like Murakami which leads to Dalek, graffiti-meets-street art-meets-fine art... I'll stop now!

I don't get Stik but love Kaws work. to me, Kaws is constantly knocking advertisements and other things that are in your face. it's uncomfortable, and it makes you think. is that what he does? I have missed this somehow Do you have any examples Thanks

I don't get Kaws..., by Fake on Feb 9, 2016 21:11:43 GMT 1, I love his sculptures and dont see him as a toy designer anymore. I think his works have great esthetics and if you see what he does as a sculptur at the age he has now he will become even bigger and better.
(I dislike his prints and dont get it)

The curator of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park exhibition only got to know of Kaws through his sculptures.
Given his generosity in signing most things it's good that there is hardly anything on ebay.
