What to do with the frame after you sell what's inside, by sufsean on Feb 12, 2016 16:48:27 GMT 1, Interested on your thoughts. Obviously an option would be to re-use it if it's a standard-ish size..
However, a lot of custom framing comes w/ non-standard sizes...
Any recommendations, or anecdotes of places/people buying the frame? Can you re-size a frame? Is that costly?

What to do with the frame after you sell what's inside, by Aza on Feb 12, 2016 16:51:30 GMT 1, If you have a new mount cut for it, it opens up the possibilities of new prints even more. Otherwise try to sell it. Personally I would buy an empty frame if they are offered at a good price.

My case--I had a Nick Walker -TMA Santa Monica framed--weird dimensions so don't really have any new buy candidates that would work w/ the frame.

What to do with the frame after you sell what's inside, by laurentbaboo on Feb 12, 2016 17:10:26 GMT 1, I would have suggest same thing, new mount and new print. Would think hard to sell if customed size and frame! Post a picture, someone might want it.

What to do with the frame after you sell what's inside, by jettad on Feb 12, 2016 18:35:44 GMT 1, I've taken custom sized frames back to the framer I originally got them from, and she has re-sized them for her labour/time costs, making them very inexpensive compared to the original costs.

Yep same here - my framer is always happy to adjust old frames to fit new prints

What to do with the frame after you sell what's inside, by turnsintoashes on Feb 13, 2016 18:59:28 GMT 1, Great question, I've wondered the same and have a few empty frames laying around.
I have a largish piece of museum glass in a weird size...that could be cut down/resized too, right?
