eBay account hijacked, by savilerogue on Mar 27, 2008 18:18:40 GMT 1, Logged in to my eBay account today to find that someone had hijacked it and listed a load of hair straighteners (!).
I last accessed it yesterday by clicking on a link somewhere on this board. I'm trying to find it now.
Luckily I managed to change my password and remove the offending listings before getting stung.
Beware.
Oh and PS - always use different passwords for eBay, PayPal and your email address. If I hadn't I would have been shafted.

eBay account hijacked, by Harveyn on Mar 27, 2008 18:25:20 GMT 1, Never click on any Link to log into Ebay not even the ones that they send you. I have asked to no avail why they send legitimate mails with links when this is the very means by which people fraudulently access your account.
Always, always log in through the normal internet channel.

True. I'm usually quite vigilant on checking the link is https:// and actually ebay.co.uk or ebay.com, but still got caught out.

Almost got caught out myself today. Was keem on buying a new mobile phone and the price a seller was selling at was too good to be true so, I emailed him.
'My account has been hijacked - do not send me any payments, ebay are investigating' came the reply !!!!!

May be worth contacting ebay live help & confirm theres no third party authorisations hidden away ( assuming you have not already done this) if there is any hackers can get into your account again without the password.

eBay account hijacked, by lastpost on Mar 27, 2008 18:37:55 GMT 1, I keep getting messages that Banksy.info might be a phishing site...so I would be very careful not to give out any details here too.

Any Ebay link thats part of the forum design is 100% OK. But I guess you might need to take care of links in posts by members make sure the link has the words ebay.co.uk or ebay.com in it

Yes - I should have made it clear - it definitely wasn't an official 'forum' link, it was in a member's post.

If you find it, or anyone else spots a suspicious link please PM me and I will get if removed.
