That's easily solved. Put the 50 post rule back and don't allow those first 50 posts to be any shorter than (say) 7 words each.
Determined sellers will get round any system, but the more laboriuos it is will cut down the casual chancers.

Joking aside, I think that the problem was that policing the rule was taking up too much of the FG's time. Is that right Otto? If so, I can completely understand why the rule was scrapped, as FG's have to have the time to enjoy being members on here, as well as being FG's.
I do not know what the answer is. My default position tends to be that the fewer rules the better, and let the forum police itself. If we don't buy from people who take the piss, and piss taking posts get derided in the way that zippy did with this one, then perhaps sellers will think about engaging a little more before selling, and posting proper for sale threads. But it is up to us, not FG's to self police. And not buy!

The forum should be self policing.
We are a team here, FG and members.
We can't keep on top of everything, and we really appreciate the policing you members do as well!

New members were trying their best to 'get around' the rule. Posting on the price check threads...etc.
This forum is Silkys baby. He decided that the forum is self policing.

Any post that comes from a member with less than 50 posts gets deleted, as does any FS thread that does not include AT LEAST the minimum info considered acceptable - simples
