Value impact of restoration, by Deleted on Mar 25, 2016 1:36:23 GMT 1, Hoping to get some of the member thoughts here. Sorry if this is located somewhere else but I was not able to find a discussion for reference.
I am likely sending a print in for soft crease removal due to improper handling from Flight Logistics during packaging. I am likely to use Poster Mountain, The Conservation Center, or Grahm Bickell (although I am located in the US)
The process would involve humidification of the creased areas and flattening over several weeks.
Although I have no foreseeable plans to sell this piece there is a sizable investment in the piece itself and I am wondering if you see this type of restoration as impacting the value in any way?
Thanks for the feedback.

Value impact of restoration, by Black Apple Art on Mar 25, 2016 1:43:24 GMT 1, Done the correct way, removing dents and other deformities will only protect your investment and value going forward. I do know Poster Mountain has a proprietary method they use and have museums, galleries and collectors sending them pieces from all over the US for work. Very fortunate they are a 30 min drive from me. Rest assured you are in good hands with them

Value impact of restoration, by rufas on Mar 26, 2016 14:08:18 GMT 1, Is Graham Bickell you mentioned UK based? Quick Google search didn't seem to find anything relevant, have you got a link? Any broad idea of the cost involved to do something a bit like this, for example would it be worth doing on a print that was worth a couple of hundred quid? Got something in this range with a little bit of damage, not sure whether to put up with it or to try for something like this restoration process . Any information would be gratefully received.
