Mr. Brainwash, by milo99 on Mar 28, 2016 9:26:50 GMT 1, I have felt from the beginning that people who actually buy the work are in this bubble of a big prank that they just haven't been let in on. IMO time will naturally weed these people out as he continues to basically do absolutely nothing of significance and still is clinging to the last stretch of the notoriety "Exit" gave him The president of the United States seems to disagree with you... These pics were taken about one month ago Not saying that I agree or disagree but you have to give it to the guy for getting around . where's the president?

The Dalai LA Man certainly does like hanging with celebrities and celebrities like photo ops with the Dalai LA Man too.
I guess it's easy in LA to hustle ones way into a meet and greet if one pays the right bus boy or whatever they are called.
To be fair to the Dalai LA man, he is very down to earth and pragmatic and doesn't take himself seriously.
I guess meeting the Dalai gives Brainwash photo shop efforts credibility in his French head.

Mr. Brainwash, by Lroy on Mar 28, 2016 20:14:46 GMT 1, What I like a lot in popular and mediatic street-startists as Mr Brainwash , and what makes me laugh too, is that before, street-artists, graffiti painters or writers , was young, Rebels, thieves, vandals, hide themselves, was caught by the police, had a message, talked against society, etc... And we have here one of these rich hipsters and/or " artists " ( we talk more of the person than of his talent or paintings - grrr this Bowie ! -lol ) , makers of prints, makers of chow-chow and makers of make-up ! No, sorry these men as him ( as a lot that you are talking sometimes here but I don't want to enter in polemics again so I won't tell any name ) have nothing to do here ! This is not art , and they should be in Cosmopolitan, Elle, or another people/fashion/women magazines for the dentist waiting-rooms. People...

It says a lot about Michelle in that she was promoting world womens day. So posing with an promoting female artist would have been more suitable.
There again maybe Michelle didn't want to be uspstaged by a woman in photos?

Mr. Brainwash, by Deleted on Mar 29, 2016 13:15:32 GMT 1, The art world is so fake and fixed anyway and run by cliques. If Brainwash is considered worth hyping and pushing up the prices at auctions by the big players and dealers as they did with Warhol etc. There will always be people with more money than sense that buy it for stupidly high prices. Koons is crap in my view and just making decorations yet the clique calls it art in the magazines and auction houses etc. Phillips contemporary art sales make one think if these people are just sticking two fingrs up to us or just delided and out of touch with reality but survive as they are in a wealthy clique. In reality what Brainwash does is jump on the Banksy band wagon and name which opened doors for him plus he had enough money up front to pay assistants to put his show together plus pay to advertise it and generate a buzz. Looking at the so called big names in todays urban art, Fairey, Banksy, Invader, Brainwash etc etc. They all seem to be part of a group who promote each other and want to control Urban art to their financial advantage. Same type of PR teams and same type of advertising and promotion.
It has flippability and resaleability so far and so did Beanie babies.

Mr. Brainwash, by Viking Surfer on Mar 30, 2016 7:32:39 GMT 1, To throw in the cat among the pigeons (sorry), anyone know what would one be expected to pay for "Ali (The Champ) 2010" - not selling I don't own one I like the image. If you like it and have a perspective seller for one, at reasonable price buy it now. FYI Ali lives out here in AZ by me, and he will not be around much longer. Like any icon celeb when they pass on, epic pieces sky rocket. Not saying the Mr Brainwash "The Champ" 2010 piece is epic but it will take a huge surge in price and demand upcoming. Leroy Neimans version would be a healthy bet if you are a Ali enthusiast. But at the moment MBW is a cheap alternative, so to speak!! This a pic of Neman and Ali with a version of what I am stepping on...
On an Ali note but non art related, I purchased some old training head gear of his a while back. It used to be on display at his training camp in PA.
Signed by quite a few of the deceased greats too.

Mr. Brainwash, by lucky7 on Mar 30, 2016 8:18:37 GMT 1, I used to like Mr.Brainwash and I get that he is essentially a critique on the art market in general and that's why he churns out so many pictures.... but does anyone think these will actually hold their value? I'm curious to hear your opinions. You see... Your premise is wrong. He is not a critique. He churns out so many pictures because he can.
Have you seen the opening of The Beverly Hillbillies? That is Mr brainwash. Will it hold value? Maybe. Do I enjoy his art? Some clouds look like animals. Maybe there once was a cloud that looked like a broken clock. Do you know what they say about broken clocks?

Warhol was a commercial artist and had an idea that he exploited very well and was in the right place at the right time.
