Shepard Fairey 🇺🇸 New Print Release • For Sale • Wanted, by soupy on Nov 9, 2018 15:24:36 GMT 1, certainly OBEY has seen an influx of bot activity with all the sneakerhead/supreme kids "coppin" prints... especially on the last tom petty drop that pretty much froze the site and was sold out within seconds. however, this drop... while the site was slow (in part i think due to OBEY trying to deter bots) it was certainly up long enough to go through checkout. with an online following of 1M+ and an edition of +/- 500, that its gonna be gone in a flash no matter what.
i only get suspicious of bot activity when it sells out before you can even get to the cart/checkout screen because no matter how quick a human can click.. it still should be up for a minimum amount of time.

Not only is it out of /350 (so lower edition and probably the lowest edition release from Shep for the last 2 years given they have all been /450) it’s also a lot nicer on the eye.
People don’t win red, they win gold. Kudos to those who scored the gold/blue print. It’s so much nicer and also wall friendly. I think this could be the Banksy CYW queue jumper edition equivalent in years to come.

That could be true, the more limited nature adds to the appeal of the colorway probably. But it’s an easy solution for them to “be a class act” when it comes with an extra $15,750 in print sales. Ultimately I would still have bought it if I knew a variant I couldn’t get was coming along, so it is what it is.
It’s a bit of a double standard though just because it’s obey and it’s a relatively inexpensive print. If this were Whatson and GP, I imagine heads would roll. Really just about anyone else.
