Lines for Kusamaโs Infinity Room Devolve Into Mobs Outside David Zwirner
'Chaos has broken out in front of David Zwirner gallery on West 19th Street, where people have been lining up to see Yayoi Kusamaโs โInfinity Mirrored Room โ The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away,โ part of her exhibition that closes tomorrow, since 7 oโclock this morning. A long line has turned into a mob scene, and police have showed up to impose order.
Art writer Dylan Schenker has been tweeting from the scene, where he arrived around 8:30 this morning to the sight of a line stretching nearly around the block. โHonestly it started out self-organized in the morning. Around 8:30ish when I got here it was a normal line,โ he wrote to Hyperallergic.'

Unfortunately, for them, Kusama infinity rooms are nice but far from worth that. Especially as The Whitney owns one and puts it on display.

She is massive and I very much doubt this will be just a canvas on walls show. Pretty sure this will be quite mega. The gallery is massive so this will be on a grand scale. She will also have a series of large eg massive bronze pumpkin sculptures outside in their water garden. so it should be quite something so do enjoy your visit. Likewise hoping to be back in the UK during the show to see it. |

Not sure if they will do in London but when seen stuff in HK and Other places always some strange stuff for sale. So sure she will do a print hopefully not cheap though I reckon it will be a small amount and pricey

Fascinating! It's her mind that's of interest to me. There's so much stored up there and the impermanence of life limits how much more will be produced.

She came to Brisbane of all places a few years ago with a show. Nobody really ever comes to this neck of the woods, so we jumped at the chance...
Johnny was spot on regarding the dots....this section of the show was basically a room wh
ere literally everything was painted white. As you entered you were given a sheet of dot stickers which you could then stick anywhere you wished...The results can be seen above.
I have other photos of her installations( that talking maneating flower from Little Shop of Horrors comes to mind ...) should anybody be interested.
