Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by corblimeylimey on Jul 4, 2007 11:21:28 GMT 1, The last J&J to sell on ebay went for slightly under ยฃ1000, so I think the price you paid really wasn't bad considering it came from a dealer, inc VAT, mint etc, also bearing in mind the next unsigned J&J to come on to ebay will probably go for over ยฃ1000. That was a strange auction. Unsigned Jack and Jill (320124798151) closed at ยฃ983 on June 18... then the guy sold it to another buyer on a second chance for ยฃ803 (320131523718). When you look at the bid history in the original sale there were 4 separate bidders ahead of the guy it was sold to! Have to question the validity of the bids and if there is shilling going on, or if unknown forces are attempting to inflate market prices. Precarious market...
That is interesting, but ยฃ800 would be an absolute bargain, even Love Rat is going for that and J&J is and has been worth at least a couple of hundred more than that.
I smell rats and fish type goings on.

isn't it just as likely that it was offered to each of the other four as a second chance offer and they turned it down before he found someone who wanted it. if you were shill bidding you would hardly go to the trouble of using 4 different accounts. and no it wasn't my auction.

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by corblimeylimey on Jul 4, 2007 11:28:39 GMT 1, I guess time will tell, but another possibility is that the seller had 2 or more prints so offered the rest as extra sales, a similar thing happened to me when I bought my Blek Le Rat Tango, the second bidder also got one for obviously less than I paid, it's quite annoying when you find that out.

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by jam on Jul 4, 2007 11:29:09 GMT 1, Perhaps... but I find it highly unlikely that the other bidders, who only days before would have bid what they wanted to pay, all ended up turning down the second chance offer. As CBL mentioned, ยฃ800 was a cracking deal... but it was also a good price at ยฃ823, ยฃ863, ยฃ903 and even the final bid of ยฃ983. I don't see all these guys being valid bids one day and flaking out the next.

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by dawn2006 on Jul 4, 2007 11:30:50 GMT 1, No probs Johnpud. A few weeks a go i was bidding on an unsigned JJ from a lovely guy in Newcastle. It was bought from Opus and been framed and went for ยฃ1,100 ish.I missed out cos i wasn't here at the end of the auction. i got what seemed like a second chance offer . Luckily the original owner emailed me to say that his account had been hijacked and don't respond to second chance offer. Thank God because i may have and that would have cost me alot. Reported to ebay. It really worried me that scammers can get hold of your account. Lucky the original owner was 100% and it shows that its worth having a correspondance before bidding!

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by absyrd on Jul 4, 2007 11:42:33 GMT 1, I got offered $2750 for mine recently after someone saw it framed up in the "...for the lads" thread. I don't see you spending 2500 as a bad thing as this image is finally getting a bit more respect and becoming a bit harder to get a hold of.
My POW stamp is in the lower right hand corner and the bottom 2mm of it or so are off the page, so luckily someone in the past thought it was strange and didn't buy it at $1600.
Now I'm in the monetary position to keep it anyhow, but it is funny how things turn out like that.

Also the danger that you may think the account has been hijacked.

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by RetroCanvas on Nov 25, 2006 19:45:53 GMT 1, Hi, Retro here,
Just bought a new Print and am ready to sell my loved J&J that was purchased from POW.
It's signed, numbered, stamped and in pristine condition. I would like ยฃ2k for it to get me back on track. Any takers?
I want to offer it off ebay to save fees. I can take cheques, bank transfer or cash on collection. I live near Bath which is near Bristol UK.
Still got the POW tube and can prove it came from POW.
Regards,
Retro

Depends whose around I suppose - most of the recent 'money no object' buyers are already sat on a J&J - it was also iirc the first POW banksy to sell out inside the first day [or did CND also?], so the scalpers got in on it too [in fact theres a bunch of J&J's just come up] as one did go for 2K & that would appear to be the magic number for a lot of people... however that 2K was a 'money no object' buyer so it's not exactly representative of current perceived value [& I'm boring myself...]
Anyway, I'd give you 1.5K cash [I'm in Bristol, no trouble to get the train over & it's going on my wall, not on frickin ebay if that counts for anything anymore] or 950 & an unsigned Applause.

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by pw on Jun 27, 2007 17:22:08 GMT 1, probably not an unreasonable price though, given the recent price increase. given the lack of signed prints on ebay at the monent (i think 3 including a dubious laugh now), in a straight auction I wouldn't be surprised if this print actually went for more than the current asking price!

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by RetroCanvas on Feb 9, 2006 19:18:19 GMT 1, I think that it goes to show how many buyers are out there just to resell
As soon as they get em through the door, they take the photos and just add them to their pre-made ebay listing.
But who can blame them, its a quick buck and everyone likes that. It is just a tad bit annoying for the real fans that have to pay through the teeth.
We can not stop it.
I don't think that my view would be as layed back if I hadn't secured my signed copy tho

Banksy Jack & Jill Print, by monochrome on Feb 10, 2006 11:06:34 GMT 1, Nothing wrong with playing the 'market'.
I would stop refering to people who buy Banksy's work as 'fans' though - he's not Girls Aloud!
If you are a collector, then you wil be concerned that you are losing out on investment. If you like the image, then just buy an unsigned one which there are many.
