Martin Whatson Artwork, VALUATION, by hadrien on Jan 22, 2016 12:57:55 GMT 1, Hi all,
I have bought the Graff Riot from M.Whatson, 1 years ago, and as I plan to move home (back to France ), I'm thinking to sell it before to leave.
The piece has been directly and professionally framed and is in perfect condition.
I'm wondering how much I could ask for it. Any advise / help will be grateful.
All the details and picture below (for the framing I would send over pictures later as I m at the office ahah)
Spray Paint And Posca Pens On Fabriano Paper
Signed And Numbered By The Artist
1/1 Unique
100 X 62 Cm
2015
Thanks by advance!

You are so right! And I got one offer. But Im not sure about the price. 5000ยฃ sounds for me some overpriced, Even I know ITS sellers marked at the moment. The prints sell for 1000ยฃ and up, but do people think this price will hold. 5000ยฃ for the print is alot?

Martin Whatson Artwork, VALUATION, by Matt on Apr 4, 2016 23:27:01 GMT 1, I think this may be the first ever piece by MW that I actually like.
Of course the "curtain" idea has been done to death, but nothing wrong with that, and this one really works well. The tagging is good, the stencil of the bloke not too bad, and the picturesque scene is spot on with that frame.
No clue on value but I like the image

Well, he's actually a street or "urban" artist, and the same bourgeois intellectual rigour need not apply, otherwise 99% of the culture you profess to like a) wouldn't exist or b) have the possibility to develop. Particularly at a time when a vast section of the populace are now denied access to art schools. This has been done by no more than 4 or 5 artists, in the world. In this context perhaps 2 or 3. Hardly "done to death" IMO

I think the Whatson in the gold frame and stencil over old painting works great as kitch art for a home.

Martin Whatson Artwork, VALUATION, by artmonster on May 12, 2016 10:40:36 GMT 1, I was wondering if anyone would have a clue of value of my Martin Whatson, one of three, handsprayed on paper Eternal reflection. I bought it from Gallery Kawamatsu years and years ago, but have never seen another one for sale. I know he made several versions (aluminium, canvas, paper and then the prints). Any idea?
