Banksy's Santas Ghetto Bethlehem, by Bram on Dec 20, 2007 13:45:53 GMT 1, Success all round (except for maybe a few mediocre prints). Liked the Lucy Mac, loved the 3D (but didn't manage to get one) loved the Banksy. All systems seemed to hold out (anyone remember trolley's) and some underprivileged kids get a good deal as well. Stuff arriving in record time, well packed.......
2008 - my prediction - no ghetto, but then again having read the SG accounts thread........

I'm not complaining, ยฃ500ish is the maximum I'd ever pay, I'm glad Banksy is still thinking of 'little people' like myself. The only downside is the massive scrum and people taking advantage of it.

Online makes it open for all.
Unique location makes it special experience to visit.
Bring attention to a terrible situation is fantastic.
My only gripe is that I hope that they commit for the long haul. As someone who works in the voluntary sector we greatly appreciate any help. However one off donations pail in to insignificance compared to long term support. no matter how great or small it is.
I feel this was a great idea.

I think they all deserve a big pat on the bag (for once)
Cuba would still be nice tho

Unforunately they have not put the one per basket limitation with the ghetto.
The prob is people filling up their baskets in order to be able to select numbers of choice!

I got lucky and had number 100 in my basket, had to buy it with that number!

They have started sending out other sold prints already and I wouldn't be suprised if they plan to send out all the sold prints before Xmas. I'm sure POW are working nearly every day at the moment and are gonna want a couple off weeks of in the New Year. All prints sent out before Xmas  Wouldn't that be great?
Last year, Banksy was released at the Ghetto 9am on Monday 18th. I reckon the Banksy will be released today or tomorrow. They have started sending out other sold prints already and I wouldn't be suprised if they plan to send out all the sold prints before Xmas. I'm sure POW are working nearly every day at the moment and are gonna want a couple off weeks of in the New Year. All prints sent out before Xmas Wouldn't that be great? |
