Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by thisisit on Apr 16, 2016 1:19:59 GMT 1, I don't express my opinion on here much but seriously, this is weak as f*ck! What's coming next, a Kate moss stencil? Personally I enjoy artists that move away from their desk and do something more adventurous. Even if this has been done before, in both action (sticking stuff in museums) and medium (and doing an andy warhol soup can). I don't get tired of it, and to be honest, at the moment I don't know an artist that has invaded museums in the past year or so, and i just love it, wish there was more of it happening. Who says whats in a museum.?
And since i enjoy this so much, i hope there is more, and more artists following. Museums should be more informal than they are.
i like this, even though I don't care about soup cans.
(also to defend the soup can, this is a very site specific piece, in the Andy Warhol Tate room..) Its not like another rendition of the soup can just for the sake of it, it was for the conversation in that specific room.)

This piece has a quirky twist to it; curious to see how it's viewed after some years.

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by docean on Jul 11, 2016 0:59:34 GMT 1, I'm confused as your stance on MBW and how it relates to this piece.
To me: the only comparison between the two is that they've both used a soup can. This a quirky knock on Warhol, derivative sure, but at least it has an original idea slapped on it.
MBW just takes previously used images, has his staff throw them together with no thought process behind it, and sells it

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by Whitefish on Jul 17, 2016 0:00:56 GMT 1, "In 1889 Henry Tate, an industrialist who had made his fortune as a sugar refiner, offered his collection of British art to the nation. There was no space for it in the National Gallery and the creation of a new gallery dedicated to British art was seen as a worthwhile aim and the search for a suitable site began. This gallery would house not only Henry Tateโs gift but also the works of British artists from various other collections."

IMO if it was just the gallery installation it could have been forgivable, even though there are infinite other options that could have been done to parody a Warhol exhibit, but the print release....Well that is just mind boggling, but in perspective, not much of a stretch from snow white holding an iphone.

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by Deleted on Jul 17, 2016 9:13:02 GMT 1, Well as they say. If it's good enuff for Banksy to be derivative with his soup cans and Kate sloshed Warhol Marilyn derivation and good enuff for other so called "big" names then it's good enuff for me and at least this version has the added twist of the reduced tag. Plus it is not expensive. Unlike some of the shit being sold by the likes of Brainfart industries etc.
Some people on here don't think outside da box and ones that do don't have a knife to cut da box up cos they is worried what would their peers on here think of them.
I did a couple of soup can versions and some people got offended. I can't think why.
