Blu ๐ฎ๐น Bologna Street Art โข Print Release โข Art For Sale, by Existencil on Jul 28, 2007 23:51:47 GMT 1, Hey,
I know Blu has been talked about already, but this guy is absolutely incredible.
This is the best image I've seen all year...
www.picturesonwalls.com/Art_Artists.asp?Artist=Blu&Offset=0&PageNo=1
A friend of mine in Italy said he was about to do something really big on a well known monument in the city. I don't know how true this is, but it seems possible given the size of his work.
Does anybody have any other cool Blu images?

Blu ๐ฎ๐น Bologna Street Art โข Print Release โข Art For Sale, by scavos on Jul 29, 2007 9:38:48 GMT 1, I really don't think anything can compare with Blu's street work. Let's be honest - it's up there with the best in the world. I was reticent about getting the POW prints because like yourselves, I was doubtful how they would translate onto printed paper. As is sometimes the case, the POW images couldn't really translate any more effectively that to hint at how good these prints could be. I was also concerned at the price of WWT and Monkey. However, as I am a true fan of Blu, I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Now clearly this is subjective and after spending as much as I did on the prints (which was a lot for me!) you might think I am bound to report their virtues to save face and attempt to justify my purchase. The honest truth of it is, each print blew (excuse the pun) me away. Monkey is just huge and rightly so. At one metre tall you're not just going to walk by this without appreciating what it means to you. Whatever that may be. It is just so very Blu and makes me smile whenever I see it; hence my avatar. It says so much to me about how detached we can too easily become from reality. And how this is exacerbated by our craving to devour the latest technology. How many of us don't even know our neighbours for example? I for one spend far too much time in front of a computer; at work and t home. Maybe this print serves as a reminder that I need to get out more! It's also a great quality print. The individual hair fibres, the camera flash, the recycled 250gsm shell grey paper, Blu's blind stamp etc. It's awesome! WWT also works for me for the message, which I see in two ways. One being the way we can connect with like-minded people as we do within the safe confines of our forum which can lead to truly great experiences like Found, meeting members in person and discovering new art. Conversely, [...just nipped off to make another cup of tea! Back again... ] how dangerous the internet can sometimes be. Whether that be about protecting our children or leaving our most personal details, (bank, holiday snaps, blogs) in cyberspace; trusting that only those that we want to access them, will. Again, it's great quality too, and visually I love the vivid green wires and duck-egg blue skyline. As I said, the joy of art is that it is blissfully subjective and I would certainly not push my views down someone else's throat. I do however challenge those detractors of the Blu prints to do all they can to actually see them in the flesh before dismissing them completely. For those that have and they still don't work, then fair play to you. For those that do get the opportunity, you might just be pleasantly surprised. p.s. Be assured, my usual, more flippant and indeed sometimes random comments will follow throughout the rest of the day and normal service will be resumed.

Blu ๐ฎ๐น Bologna Street Art โข Print Release โข Art For Sale, by insite on Jul 29, 2007 10:14:21 GMT 1, Nice one scavos, I hadn't realised until I read your post how big the monkey print was, at 1m high that's pretty imposing in the average house (I'm assuming you don't live in a Georgian mansion with stupidly high ceilings), I can see the point of doing it as a print now.

Blu ๐ฎ๐น Bologna Street Art โข Print Release โข Art For Sale, by Existencil on Jul 29, 2007 11:28:07 GMT 1, Hey,
Nice email Scavos!
I have to agree. I wasn't sure about those prints at first, but when I saw World Wide Trap I was blown away too.
This one www.blublu.org/sito/walls/2007/big/023.jpg would be great as a print.

Hey insite. Cheers fella. I wish I did have a Georgian mansion wih stupidly high ceilings! Just a flat with stupidly low ceilings. However, just moving to a house with equally stupidly low ceilings. I'll find a good spot for my Monkey though! Here's some pics for those that haven't seen the Blu prints yet. Any framing suggestions would be most welcome.

Good to see you back on the forum!
I don't the specifics of the suggested landmark, but there was the suggestion it would be something with a political significance. Both of Blu's prints have a political slant, so I wouldn't be suprised.
