What campervan do you drive?, by Sanscript on May 20, 2016 12:59:06 GMT 1, Hi All,
I'm new here, so in the spirit of joining in without trying to commentate too much on the 'art' (otherwise I sound like a numpty), I thought I would start a thread about something that I do know about - Campervans.
The thing with vans, is that they can be very arty - A well prepared custom van with meticulously detailed individual items is in fact an art of work itself. Vans may have murals and paintings on the cupboards inside, or be entirely custom painted on the outside.
Simplicity is also the ultimate artistic achievement. A simple blue late 50's VW splitscreen can be simply stunning.
So, I wonder if any of the forum members have campers (could even be funky trucks) that they would like to share their images of?
I will start things off with a recent truck of mine.......

I hear the cost of them has gone through the roof of late - sadly. i thought hardcanvas from the past was a bit of a vw nut , no ? Those Danburys are great, although expensive - 25k would get you a 5 year old base model. Danbury have been buying VW T2 vans from VW pretty much since VW produced them. Danbury buy them as a plain white van, and then turn them into funky campers.
Production of the VW T2 continued in Brazil up until recently. These are made using new materials and technologies. So you basically get a classic looking van, but with modern engine, gearbox, brakes etc, and of course a nice new interior.
If I owned a rare Banksy at the current stage of my life, I would sell it and would buy a few Danburys and rent them out as holiday rentals.......

I have a friend of mine who brought in 58 split bug from Germany last year, has a g60 , keen. Have you thought of bringing some vans in from Brasil , shouldn't be too complex.. No ?
Your words about if you had.. I thought there was T2 company based (rent drive / holiday ) in Bristol who were selling up ( 4 vans) ... But they've probably gone by now.

What campervan do you drive?, by Cornish Crayon on May 24, 2016 13:19:28 GMT 1, Been there and done the whole scene thing had a 72 bay for 10 years
Collected more skateboards and bmxs than you could shake a walking stick at.........
All gone now sold and moved on.........
Got some bodyboards now, no surfboards
And never had the desire to own a split, can't stand em....... The scene ate itself and became a ruined clicky mess.......
Just saying
(Bet you wished you hadn't asked now lol)

What campervan do you drive?, by dotdot on May 25, 2016 21:41:44 GMT 1, generally though like everything you'll find demand goes up if the freq(interest) of a subject matter goes up.. like it goes down (out of fashion) ... which it will with the trendy vans
still - can't beat a fine old van .. being used.
flash and wave..
oh and stop to help folks as well - as I've done many a time.
..mine's a kay gee btw.
