Recently I bought a Silver Flag at Hang-Up Gallery. Decided to buy it there since I have very little experience. The picture was in a cover when I picked it up and the condition seemed to be okay. Brought it to a professional framing company and the picture still looks okay from far away and if there is not much light:
Nevertheless, if you hold it against the light, you clearly see that something is wrong with the black areas in the picture:
I wonder if anybody experienced that with her/his Silver Flag or has at least an idea, how such damages appear?
Furthermore, if the previous owner is reading this, I would be interested, whether this damage has been adressed when selling it to the gallery.

Banksy Silver Flag Damage, by Deleted on Jun 15, 2016 11:26:39 GMT 1, Mine does reflect the light differently as the paper used is Chromalux paper I believe and, because the paper is not perfectly flat and the way it reflects you do get that effect, mine is not framed at the moment though so that could affect the way it looks.

He believes the ink is reacting in an unexpected way to the shiny stock it was printed on due to oxidation. I can't really confirm that statement as I'm certainly no expert, but I imagine getting it framed is the best way to prevent against any furtherance of this reaction.
