Considering Stik prices are all over the place from week to week thanks to a small clique of Del Boy and Rodneys on here. You really think people on here are responsible for Stik pricing? The market is setting its self with continuos strong auction results. Only time will tell but I can't see prices dropping myself.
I would say the people here are very much responsible for stik pricing. Stik's prices have rocketed since the baby release and I would guess well over 50% of the 100 prints were either bought by or passed through the hands of members here. With the massive hyping and constant talk of prices here, I would say that it has had a huge effect on the market value.

Don't get me wrong, I like his work. I just think that price hyping and/or manipulation here has a bigger impact for someone like Stik than some probably realise.

A 'couple' is two. What amount is a few of a couple? When you sold them, did you ask if they had heard of this forum?

I've got no dog in this one, so no argument here. I just wanted to point out that I do think this forum has a big influence on the market of stik's work. Will his pieces keep going up in value? No I don't think so. He has quite a small niche market and very few prints available at the moment, but as you say, time will tell.

Time will tell. I've written it a few times that Stik has a best selling book, which is now available globally and as such it's clear his fanbase goes way beyond this forum. Of course a lot of deals for his prints take place here but not many originals, of which there are plenty in circulation are hardly ever seen here.

I gave a large helping hand to his best selling book, I bought three of them and probably gonna buy another two soon

Stik • Hip Poster • Japan Big Issue, by Deleted on Jun 17, 2016 20:18:39 GMT 1, Was it you who said that Stik and his printer told Bonhams not to take Stik prints from other people apart from themselves? I doubt an auction house would play that game but knowing people on the inside of certain auction houses I do know that it's possible for certain staff to do handshake deals regarding pieces entered or refused by them if they can make a bit on the side. I think Stik auction results have been artificially bid up by Stiks management which he does have. I think Stik uses his I used to be a drug addict and homeless back story as marketing as was the Big Issue giveaway marketing too. I also think Stik has had plent of money from public funding and if he can make a lot of money from his art. Good luck to him and he should be able to afford to rent or buy private and not take advantage of cheap social housing in London. and yes I think some on here are hyping the prices and steering people towards their sales on here. Stick figures are great as simple art and comics like "Exploding Dog" etc and also as minimalist art. can you put me in contact with Stik's management please? stop bullshitting and focus your energy on your art. Sorry I meant PR team.
"London Art Spot: Stik Interview (Part 1)
Stik strolled into the trendy Pitfield cafe down the street from his studio to meet me yesterday afternoon in his very paint-splattered clothes, but no mysterious hat or sunglasses covering his face. We ordered Earl Grey tea (his with soya) and he asked for a powdered croissant. I waited while he chatted with his PR team"

You're right, i'm inspired. I'm working on stick figure versions of the Star Wars caracters.
Think i'll start with Han Solo. Less realistic than yours of course.

Cant decide if they have the only working crystal ball, or if they just run around like chicken licken all day predicting disaster, just for the joy of claiming they were right afterwards.
and the fact its been said for years and he has had nothing but success, kinda says a lot really.

Maybe he was having tea with his friends but that was not "artsy" enough for the interview so they made something up to sound more interesting to the reader.....not un-heard of in the press!!
Personally I would not believe what you see on a webpage! That looks more like a statement to fool its clients that they are more involved with the artist and his output than it actually is. Impressive for its clients does little for the artist and his stock value. Plenty of galleries deal in Banksy prints but they have never met him, dealt with him or inspired him....but looks good on your webpage!

If you are an artist then I think the last thing you should be doing is trying to degrade another artist work and success however you may think they have achieved it. For an artist to make a living out of being creative it takes a lot of time, effort and lots of knock backs to get to a point where you can support yourself.
